Team/Position Overview

The Senior Vice President of Complex Assets occupies one of the most senior and influential roles within Security Services Operations. You will carry enterprise-wide accountability for the strategic, commercial, and operational performance of the Complex Assets business—spanning OTC derivatives post-trade services, Middle Office, and Fund Accounting. You are not merely a leader of a team; you are a custodian of the business, responsible for its P&L, its people, its clients, and its future.

At SVP level, the expectation transcends operational management. You will be a trusted voice at the executive table, a recognised authority in the external market, and the architect of a forward-looking operating model that anticipates regulatory shifts, technological disruption, and evolving client demands.

Responsibilities

As Complex Assets Senior Vice President, your remit will encompass:

• Enterprise Strategy Development: Define and champion the multi-year strategic vision for the Complex Assets franchise. Identify market opportunities, assess competitive dynamics, and translate strategic intent into clearly articulated, board-ready business cases and transformation roadmaps.
• Executive Stakeholder Management: Cultivate and maintain relationships at the most senior levels. Represent the business in global governance committees and senior client forums.
• Organisational Leadership & Culture: Lead a large, geographically dispersed organisation spanning multiple functions and seniority levels. Set the cultural tone, champion employee engagement, and build a pipeline of future leaders through deliberate talent development and succession planning.
• Global Client Franchise Ownership: Own client relationships for the Complex Assets business. Oversee client strategy from acquisition through to lifecycle management, ensuring Citi is the partner of choice for the world's leading institutional asset managers and hedge funds. Lead client retention, satisfaction, and wallet share growth at the enterprise level.
• Technology & Digital Transformation: Set and own the technology vision for the Complex Assets business. Partner with Product and  global Technology leaderships to define and fund a multi-year digital transformation agenda, encompassing AI, machine learning, cloud infrastructure, and automation — positioning Citi at the frontier of innovation in post-trade services.
• Cross-Business & Firmwide Collaboration: Partner at the highest level across Citi's businesses to drive firmwide alignment, resolve complex cross-business issues, and ensure the Complex Assets strategy supports the broader Citi franchise ambition.

Qualifications

We are seeking an exceptional executive leader with:

• A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in OTC derivatives and/or securities services, with substantial tenure at a senior leadership level (VP and above).
• A demonstrated track record of business management in a complex, global, and regulated financial services environment.
• Deep and proven expertise in OTC Derivatives across all major asset classes (rates, credit, FX, equity, commodities), with the ability to provide authoritative strategic and technical guidance at the executive level.
• A proven ability to conceive, sponsor, and deliver large-scale transformation programs, including technology-led change, operating model redesign, and post-merger integration.
• Strong financial acumen, including experience with budgeting, forecasting, resource allocation, and business case development at the enterprise level.
• Outstanding executive communication, influencing, and negotiation skills, with the gravitas and credibility to engage at Board level and with the most senior external stakeholders.
• Recognized industry standing, with an active presence in relevant trade bodies, industry forums, or regulatory working groups.
• Proficiency in leveraging data and technology to drive strategic decision-making; comfort engaging with CTO-level technology strategy and innovation agendas.

Education

• A Master's degree is strongly preferred (MBA or MSc) in a quantitative or business discipline such as Quantitative Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Financial Engineering, or Business Administration.
• A Bachelor's degree in a relevant quantitative field is the minimum requirement.
• Senior professional designations (e.g., CFA, FRM) and/or executive leadership credentials are highly regarded.
• Continued engagement with professional development and industry education is expected at this level.

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$155,360.00 - $233,040.00
