Jensen Hughes has an opportunity for Fire & Life Safety Engineer/Consultant to join our growing Hospitality team which helps the top clients across Asia. Our team frequently travels to help clients across South Korea, Japan, Malaysia, Macau, Singapore and China. We are looking for a highly motivated individual with strong analytical and creative thinking skills to manage a hospitality project workload across the region and will report to Jensen Hughes Malaysia Hospitality manager. The successful candidate should enjoy frequent travel and client interaction as part of their work. This is a client facing role and therefore a solid technical understanding along with excellent communication and organizational skills are a must. In this role, you will be initially trained in Code Consulting, and Fire Protection System Design/Review.
Responsibilities
- Manage projects and coordinate technical workload of hospitality projects implementing a variety of Fire & Life Safety consulting projects across Asia.
- Willing to travel extensively mainly across Korea and Japan, but potentially also other regions to support hospitality meetings, workshops, and inspections.
- Attend client project & design meetings managing project expectations completing assigned tasks on schedule and within budget as the sole representative of Jensen Hughes in the region.
- Prepare and present technical reports and presentations according to the well established procedure you will be introduced to.
- Work in team, in a well-structured organisation and progressively carry out design reviews with increased autonomy.
- Participate in various levels of business development, including meetings and presentations with clients and developing proposals.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Technical Degree in any Engineering speciality.
- Past experience in site inspection, code consulting, design of fire suppression & alarm systems, and/or developing performance-based strategies in a project design environment, although not mandatory, is a plus.
- Chartered Engineer or PE is desirable.
- Previous experience in the hospitality sector is a plus.
- Excellent report writing and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication skills including speaking and writing in English. Knowledge of Japanese is desirable. Ability to present clear and technically sound fire protection engineering strategies, speak in public, negotiate, explain fire protect
