Production Associate

Perform the daily operations of GANTRY PLANO MILLER machine on Casings in line with ISO:9001 & ISO:19443 along with SQDC approach to achieve shift wise target as per Machining inputs & standard work. Contributes to team efforts in accomplishing the organizational goals.

• Follow site EHS procedure and nuclear safety awareness along with daily points of work risk assessment at shift starting.
• Report any stop work or concerns related to EHS & quality.
• Perform & assign activities in line with work specific regulatory compliance and organizational EHS policy.
• Competent for assessment of risks & hazards associated with the task & respective mitigation actions.
• Undergo required EHS trainings to work safely & perform tasks in safe manner.
• Shall acquire the respective authorization/training before performing an activity.
• Ensure that all Contract workers are performing the assigned activity safely while working with you or nearby area.
• Knowledge about basic EHS guidelines/Environmental Impact & aspect and risk related to activities of Machine shop & assembly.
• Understanding of nuclear safety culture and ITNS-I & A (Important To Nuclear Safety- Item & Activity)
• Review and understanding of machining documents like MOPs, SOPs, drawings, KSL, program files, Tool sheets and FMEAs.
• Follow TPM procedures likes AM checklist and involvement in PM activities.
• Knowledge Casing components & operating of CNC Milling & Turning machine.
• Perform job set up & offset, Tool set up & offset and precise quality measurements as per instructions & requirements.
• Perform nuclear casing & parts machining, turning & milling machining-like parting plane holes machining, Gland bore machining, taper pin holes, ID/OD turning, parting plane machining, drilling, tapping, thread milling, boring, key slot machining, blade groove/RCRV/OLV groove machining, Casing roughing & finishing, seal strip & shroud turning and pipe machining.
• Monitoring of production, adjusting feed & appropriate machine setting.
• Knowledge of usage of measuring instruments, error check & its application.
• Knowledge of cutting tools & its application, trouble shooting of machine and understanding of CNC program & manual program.
• Lean approach likes 5s, TPM, Kaizen etc and maintain safe & clean workplace.
• Teamwork and Coordination with fellow operator team & cross functional team for uninterrupted Production.
• Support other machine team & assembly team.
• Expert knowledge in clamping, leveling, and aligning massive, heavy workpieces on the machine table to prevent distortion or vibration
• Choosing correct cutting speeds, feeds, and insert types for diverse metallic and non-metallic materials
• Proficient with CNC programming/operation (such as Siemens or Fanuc controls) or manual gear/feed box manipulation depending on machine vintage
• Managing cross-rails, side milling heads, and vertical slides simultaneously.
• Routine daily checks of independent lubrication systems, hydraulic pressures, and chip conveyor clearing.

• Basic Qualifications(requirements):
  • ITI- machinist / Diploma in Mechanical engineering
  • Min 3-year experience in Machining of casing parts (Turbine/Generator)
  • Basic computer skills
