Dental Insurance Specialist
Full Time (Monday-Friday) (No Weekends and No Holidays)
40 hours/week
Keystone Dental Care (KDC) is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Dental Insurance Specialist to join our team full-time. This position plays a vital role in supporting patient access to care by managing insurance-related processes, coordinating patient schedules, and ensuring accurate financial and patient records.
Working under the supervision of the Director of Dental Care Services, the Dental Insurance Specialist is responsible for maintaining efficient patient flow, supporting administrative operations, and assisting the dental team in delivering high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and manage insurance verifications and prior authorizations
- Coordinate patient payment agreements and answer billing-related questions
- Post insurance and patient payments accurately and timely
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments
- Maintain accurate patient records, charts, logs, and reports
- Assist patients with insurance and coverage inquiries
- Support the dental team in expediting patient care whenever possible
- Help ensure efficient patient flow throughout the dental practice
- Perform other administrative and patient service duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum of two years of experience in a dental office preferred
- Experience in a dental and/or medical office setting required
- Knowledge of dental insurance plans, prior authorizations, and insurance verification processes required
- Ability to prepare, maintain, and manage patient charts, records, logs, and reports
- Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated willingness to learn, grow, and expand professional skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience with dental practice management software
- Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and insurance billing practices
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Commitment to providing excellent patient service and supporting a team-oriented environment
