PRN – 1st Shift
Courier Service I Corbin, KY
Courier Services plays a vital role in supporting hospital operations by ensuring the timely and secure transportation of medical supplies, laboratory specimens, pharmaceuticals, equipment, documents, and other essential items. The team works closely with departments across the organization to maintain efficient communication, support patient care, and ensure critical deliveries are completed safely, accurately, and on schedule.
Responsible for the safe and efficient transport of patient labs, supplies, mail, and required items of operation, to and from the hospital and off-site facilities. All employees will continually monitor and adhere to safety responsibilities and initiatives.
Description:
Provides timely pickup and delivery of patient laboratory specimens.
Maintains specimens securely and follows proper handling and transportation procedures.
Collects, sorts, and delivers mail, packages, and supplies to designated locations.
Maintains accurate daily activity logs for pickups and deliveries.
Keeps the assigned courier vehicle clean, fueled, serviced, and in safe operating condition.
Reports vehicle, safety, or security concerns to appropriate personnel.
Follows laboratory safety, PPE, infection control, OSHA, and regulatory requirements.
Adheres to hospital and departmental safety policies and procedures.
Participates in required safety training, emergency preparedness activities, and departmental meetings.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required.
No prior job-related experience required.
Valid Driver’s License required.
