The Vacancy
This position is responsible for traveling to local and out of state facilities and providing field services for utility, industrial, and alternative energy clients. This includes the sampling of insulating liquids of energized and de-energized electrical equipment for laboratory testing and conducting inspections of electrical equipment when required. Additionally, as the front-line contact for clients in the field, the Field Technician Supervisor will support the operations and sales team to expand the offerings. He/she will have supervisory responsibilities for the field services division and directly for those technicians offering sampling services.
Essential duties and responsibilities
- Provides field sampling and equipment installation services to local and national clients.
- Supervises efficient production schedules to meet customer demand and meet established metrics.
- Point of contact for field and technical services and the resulting optional testing, technical resampling guidance, and additional Megger products and service sales when required.
- Interfaces with clients in both technical and customer service capacities.
- Provides leads and sales opportunities to support Megger products and services.
- Ensures all safety requirements and required documentation are met and the technicians are trained in compliance with applicable state, federal or providence regulations.
- Supervises the safety and technical platforms (e.g., ISNetworld & Avetta) and manages compliance, risk, and safety requirements.
- Ensures proper training and disposal of related hazardous materials
- Manage compliance for drug testing and required industry certifications of the team.
- Secures and manages supplies, tools, equipment, and transportation to properly provide services.
- Works with the Field Services Coordinate to maximize projects and billable work hours.
- Schedules and tracks working hours and project tracking reports.
- Adheres to company policies and the timely and accurate submitted work expenses, mileage, and related operating costs.
- Maintains housekeeping and organization of field service equipment.
- Provide additional administrative, technical, laboratory test process, or sales support when available or assigned by management.
Academic training and experience
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent and prior experience in an industrial setting is required
- Certification (or ability to complete certification) and previous training on operation of infrared cameras and/or partial discharge (PD) detection devises.
- Previous experience with customer service responsibilities, including the experience and ability to work directly with customers.
- Preferred supervisory skills, knowledge, and experience in a field services environment

• Ability to travel 50% or more with many jobs requiring overnight stays.
