About the Role

We are looking for a safety-focused, hands-on Maintenance Supervisor to help lead daily maintenance operations for our large hauling division in Eugene, Oregon. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled technician who is ready to grow into a higher-level leadership role.

The Maintenance Supervisor will continue to work directly on the fleet, troubleshooting and repairing equipment while partnering with the Maintenance Manager to gain the experience needed to oversee all aspects of shop operations, team leadership, and fleet maintenance management.

What You’ll Do

  • Ensure full compliance with Waste Connections’ safety programs and standards.
  • Support a collaborative, team‑oriented shop environment.
  • Oversee and assist with the training of Mechanics and PM Mechanics.
  • Maintain regulatory compliance across all applicable agencies and requirements.
  • Provide guidance to Mechanics on proper diagnostic and repair methods.
  • Schedule and assign work to shop personnel.
  • Coordinate with outside vendors for repairs when needed.
  • Road‑test or evaluate vehicles to diagnose issues and verify repairs.
  • Prepare purchase orders and source competitive pricing for parts and services.
  • Maintain department costs within budgeted guidelines.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 3 years of diesel mechanic experience; prior experience in a lead technician, trainer, or mentorship role is preferred.
  • Must provide own personal tools.
  • Experience managing union employees
  • Valid Class B CDL with air brakes endorsement preferred
