JOB SUMMARY
The GLL Program Coordinator & Outreach Specialist plays a vital role in coordinating, supporting, and advancing the Global Languages and Learning (GLL) Department's educational programs and community engagement initiatives. This position supports adult learners enrolled in English as a Second Language (ESL), General Educational Development (GED), and related language and lifelong learning programs.
The position serves as a key connection between students, instructors, college departments, community organizations, and prospective students. The coordinator supports students from initial outreach, inquiry, intake, and orientation through academic progression, college and career transition, and program completion.
Working both on campus and throughout the community, the GLL Program Coordinator & Outreach Specialist develops relationships with multilingual and multicultural communities, promotes GLL programs, coordinates recruitment and outreach activities, supports instructional operations, and helps students access college and community resources.
The position serves as a highly visible representative of Global Languages and Learning and contributes to the department's mission of expanding educational access, strengthening language and foundational skills, supporting college and career pathways, and promoting lifelong learning.

Program Coordination & Student Support
- Coordinate the scheduling, enrollment, and delivery of ESL and GED courses, including three levels of English language instruction.
- Support the development and implementation of educational activities that align with student learning, college readiness, and career transition goals.
- Coordinate student intake, orientation, assessment, and placement processes for ESL and GED programs.
- Respond to walk-in, telephone, email, and digital inquiries from prospective and current students in a professional, helpful, and culturally responsive manner.
- Advise students regarding academic progression, program requirements, available resources, and opportunities for continued education.
- Connect students with college services, including admissions, financial aid, tutoring, advising, technology support, and other student resources.
- Monitor student participation, progress, persistence, and transition to additional educational opportunities.
- Identify barriers to student participation and help connect students with appropriate college or community resources.
- Support students as they transition from non-credit instruction into credit-bearing college courses, workforce training, or career pathways.
Outreach, Recruitment & Community Engagement
- Develop and implement outreach strategies to increase awareness, enrollment, participation, and retention in GLL programs.
- Establish outreach goals and develop strategies to engage multilingual, multicultural, and historically underserved populations.
- Conduct outreach through phone, email, social media, community events, informational sessions, and other appropriate communication channels.
- Serve as a primary public-facing representative of Klamath Community College's Global Languages and Learning Department.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with local agencies, community organizations, schools, employers, educational institutions, and other partners.
- Identify opportunities to participate in cultural events, community activities, resource fairs, and other outreach opportunities.
- Coordinate remote and community-based outreach activities to increase access to GLL services.
- Develop and distribute promotional and informational materials for GLL programs.
- Coordinate recruitment and informational events and assist with event logistics, including guest speakers and community partners.
- Evaluate outreach and recruitment activities and recommend strategies for continuous improvement.
- Maintain accurate tracking of outreach contacts, prospective students, referrals, enrollment activities, and recruitment outcomes.
College Readiness & Career Pathways
- Develop and coordinate workshops and informational sessions related to college readiness, digital literacy, career exploration, and educational planning.
- Help students understand pathways from ESL and GED programs to college enrollment, workforce training, employment, and degree completion.
- Coordinate with appropriate college departments and community partners to provide students with information and resources.
- Invite and coordinate guest speakers, college representatives, community agencies, and other partners to provide relevant information and services to students.
- Promote opportunities for students to participate in college, career, and community activities.
Instructional & Faculty Support
- Serve as a liaison among instructors, tutors, students, and administrative staff to support effective program delivery.
- Assist instructors with instructional planning, classroom needs, testing schedules, and resource coordination.
- Coordinate educational materials, technology, testing resources, and other instructional support across ESL and GED levels.
- Facilitate communication and feedback among instructional staff regarding student needs, program operations, and opportunities for improvement.
- Assist with monitoring student progress and identifying students who may benefit from additional academic or support services.
- Support the implementation of program policies, procedures, instructional standards, and student success initiatives.
Administrative, Data & Compliance Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate, confidential, and secure student and prospective student records in accordance with FERPA, college policies, accreditation standards, and applicable regulations.
- Enter and maintain student information in college systems and other approved digital tracking platforms.
- Maintain accurate records of enrollment, attendance, outreach, student participation, program activities, and outcomes.
- Support data collection, analysis, and reporting for internal planning, grant requirements, institutional effectiveness, accreditation, and external compliance.
- Monitor program deadlines, deliverables, reports, orientations, assessments, events, and other required activities.
- Maintain inventories of educational materials, office supplies, and outreach materials and place and track orders as needed.
- Assist with development, implementation, and evaluation of program procedures and continuous improvement activities.
- Protect confidential student information and exercise appropriate discretion in all students and program matters.
Events & Program Activities
- Organize and support student-centered events, including orientations, achievement celebrations, informational sessions, workshops, cultural activities, and community engagement events.
- Coordinate event logistics, materials, facilities, technology, guest speakers, and partner participation.
- Assist with setup and breakdown of outreach and program events.
- Represent GLL and Klamath Community College at campus and community events.
- Promote student participation in college and community activities that support educational and career goals.
NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Represent Klamath Community College in a culturally responsive and bilingual capacity, when applicable, fostering trust and engagement among students, families, community members, and partner organizations.
- Assist with special projects and departmental initiatives.
- Travel to off-campus outreach locations and community events as needed.
- Work occasional evening and weekend hours to support community outreach, student activities, and college events.
- If assigned, this position may require administrative work on grant-funded program activities and reporting.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in education, adult education, outreach, community engagement, student services, communications, or a related field.
- Experience working with diverse populations and/or multilingual communities.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with students, community members, colleagues, and external partners.
- Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation for required off-campus activities.
- Must be able to drive during evening hours when required.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in education, language studies, social sciences, communications, student services, or a related field.
- Experience working in ESL, GED, adult basic education, college transition, workforce development, or community education programs.
- Experience with student information systems, databases, enrollment systems, or other educational technology.
- Experience supporting program compliance, accreditation, grant reporting, or institutional data collection.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish or another language relevant to the communities served.
- Experience developing outreach campaigns, recruitment strategies, community partnerships, or educational events.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
- Work is performed in a combination of office, classroom, campus, and community environments.
- Regular interaction with students, faculty, staff, community members, and partner organizations is required.
- Travel to off-campus outreach locations and community events is required.
- Occasional evening and weekend work is required based on program and community event schedules.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds for event setup, including outreach materials, educational materials, and equipment.
