As Assistant Capital Works Manager, you’ll play a hands on role in delivering capital projects that protect the quality, sustainability and long-term performance of our Office portfolio. Working across live, operational assets, you’ll help shape spaces that meet the evolving needs of our tenant customers while supporting strong investment outcomes - contributing directly to Charter Hall’s strategy of creating value through disciplined, partnership-led property management.

How you’ll make an impact:

  • Shape projects that genuinely improve our Office assets - supporting the delivery of capital works across the ACT portfolio, from asset repositioning and lobby upgrades to end-of-trip facilities, services upgrades and tenant fitouts that help our places remain high-performing, relevant and competitive.

  • Help turn strategy into well-delivered outcomes - working across budgets, programs, scoping, governance and reporting to bring discipline and momentum to projects that support tenant retention, rental growth and long-term investment performance.

  • Build trusted partnerships in live operating environments - working closely with Asset Management, Property Management, consultants, contractors and tenant customers to deliver works with care, clarity and minimal disruption.

  • Bring a focus on quality, safety and sustainability - helping embed consistent WHS&E standards, support sustainability initiatives and contribute to projects that improve the resilience and performance of our assets.

  • Grow your impact across a national platform - contributing to Charter Hall’s broader capital works capability by applying consistent systems, sharing insight across teams and building the experience to take greater ownership of projects over time.

What you’ll bring to the team

  • Future focused capabilities including self-awareness, resilience, agility and generosity.

  • An ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong time management skills, initiative and an ability to prioritise.

  • Project management qualification and/or Building/Engineering/Architecture or other appropriate tertiary qualifications.

  • 3 years industry experience with experience in a similar technical role.

  • Understanding of the design and delivery market and the key players in each tier within ACT.

  • Demonstrated contract negotiation experience in the building and construction industry.

  • Demonstrate skills in design management of multi-faceted team, assist the delivery of capital works projects.

  • Negotiate with and influence others drawing on own experiences.

  • Ability to make efficient and effective decisions / recommendations with deep understanding of the risk / reward profile.

  • Ability to question the status quo and challenge existing concepts, be curious.

  • Perform in a team environment and demonstrate excellent tenacity and commitment.

  • Well organised, with the ability to manage several tasks at the same time and prioritise tasks for completion.
