The Opportunity:

Hamilton Lane is seeking a senior sales professional with a focus on Private Wealth to join their Milan-based team. As a Principal in the Client Solutions team you will be a part of the wider European sales team, reporting directly to the Head of Italy.  

You will be responsible for sourcing and winning new business across Italy’s Private Wealth channels (e.g. private banks, distribution platforms as well as (U)HNWI), while also managing and servicing existing client relationships. This is a relationship-driven commercial role for a proven business builder with an established network in the Italian Private Wealth market. Knowledge of private markets is preferred as the role will also entail being a spokesperson for Hamilton Lane in the market and contributing to increase brand visibility / awareness.

Success in the role will result in growing and deepening of relationships with Italian private wealth investors.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and grow relationships with existing private wealth clients, bankers and distribution partners

  • Leverage an existing network to originate and win new business (e.g. distribution agreements) across private banks, wealth platforms and related channels

  • Lead the sales process from prospecting through onboarding and ongoing relationship development

  • Interface with senior management across Hamilton Lane in the coordination of internal and external prospect meetings

  • Represent Hamilton Lane in the market (incl. attendance to regional industry-related events)

  • Work closely with internal teams to deliver a high-quality client experience

  • Maintain a disciplined pipeline and accurate sales activities reporting in CRM

  • Be an active participant in Hamilton Lane’s sales meetings.

Qualifications:

  • University degree. CFA/CAIA or other relevant designation is a plus but not required.

  • 10+ years of experience in sales covering Private Wealth clients (e.g. wealth management or Private Banking).

  • A hunter with a proven, respected track record in client servicing and new business development in the private wealth segment in Italy

  • Strong network of relevant contacts across private banks and distribution channels

  • A winning personality, highly driven with a strong work ethic

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and relationship management skills

  • Native Italian, fluency in English. Knowledge of other languages (e.g. French or Spanish) is a plus but not required.

  • Private markets experience is a plus.

  • Proficient in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel).

 Other Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel as required, including ad hoc to other Hamilton Lane offices as required 

  • Flexibility to work across regions and time zones in support of a global business. Hamilton Lane is a US headquartered but global private markets investment firm with an extensive global office network and a high performing culture. This office set-up requires working hours outside the normal workday to communicate with other Hamilton Lane offices and personnel and ensure timely response to clients and prospects.

Hamilton Lane's approach to compensation is designed to help us hire and retain the industry's leading talent. We aim to compensate employees fairly and competitively across all positions at our firm. Employees are eligible to receive salary, variable compensation, and benefits. The base salary range for this position is: EUR 130,000-200,000. This range is an estimate, and further details on compensation will be shared with candidates during the recruitment process, the overall compensation package will be determined based on Hamilton Lane's assessment of the candidates experience, skills and capabilities.
