The Whittemore Center is a multi-use entertainment & sporting venue, and home to University of New Hampshire Men’s and Women’s Hockey Programs – the UNH Wildcats. Crew & Ice Operators are trained to operate ice resurfacing equipment and assist with tasks related to the daily operations of the facility. Crew members work both in a team setting, such as on Game Days, or independently during ice rentals with guidance and direction of WCA management.
Duties/Responsibilities
Operates ice resurfacing equipment during UNH Home Games & ice rentals
Assist with a wide range of arena maintenance as needed (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, etc.)
Perform ice maintenance duties as assigned
Ensure building equipment and public use areas are safe and accessible, including snow removal in parking area and arena entrances
Serve as point of contact or as building supervisor during ice rentals and in the absence of professional staff
Open and close facility as scheduled
Ensures building is locked and secured when closing
Assist with set-ups and breakdown of events and facility function areas
Light janitorial duties such as cleaning hockey glass and boards, or clean up of locker rooms between rentals
Follows all applicable safety rules and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience working in arena operations and/or operating ice resurfacing equipment preferred. All candidates must possess a strong work ethic, a high level of professionalism and commitment to the University and their fellow WCA Crew members on staff.
Expected Hours:
10-15 hours per week. Specific hours are dependent based on programming needs. Must be available to work nights and weekends.
Compensation Pay Range:
$14 - $18 /hour
