A Day in the Life

The Surgical and Medical portfolio supports healthcare professionals through a range of products and solutions used across surgical and clinical care settings. This sales function is responsible for driving territory growth, expanding customer adoption, and building long-term partnerships with healthcare institutions, clinicians, and channel partners.

This role is based in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. Approximately 50% travel is required within Malaysia to engage customers, provide product support, and drive business growth.

The Sales Representative, Surgical and Medical is responsible for achieving sales objectives within an assigned territory by developing customer relationships, identifying growth opportunities, and supporting the adoption of products and solutions. The role works closely with healthcare professionals, distributors, and internal stakeholders to execute territory plans, provide product education, and deliver a high level of customer support.
 

Primary Responsibilities:

• Achieve sales targets by executing territory plans and managing customer accounts within the assigned region.
• Develop and maintain relationships with healthcare professionals, hospitals, purchasing stakeholders, and distributors to support business growth.
• Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities to expand product adoption and market penetration.
• Conduct product presentations, demonstrations, and educational activities to support customer knowledge and utilization of products and services.
• Assess customer needs and recommend appropriate product solutions that support clinical and business objectives.
• Monitor market trends, customer activities, and competitor developments to identify opportunities and risks within the territory.
• Communicate customer feedback, market insights, and product requirements to cross-functional teams including Marketing, Operations, and Research and Development.
• Maintain accurate sales activity records, forecasts, and account plans to support business objectives.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3 years of sales, clinical, or commercial experience within healthcare, medical devices, life sciences, or a related healthcare industry.
• Experience managing customer relationships and sales activities within an assigned territory.
• Demonstrated experience managing multiple customer accounts and priorities in a customer-facing sales or healthcare environment.
• Experience interacting with healthcare professionals and customers in time-sensitive or complex situations while maintaining effective communication and professionalism.
• Ability to travel up to 50% within Malaysia.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3 to 5 years of medical device, medtech, surgical, or healthcare sales experience.
• Experience working with hospitals, healthcare providers, and distributor networks.
• Knowledge of surgical and medical products, clinical environments, and healthcare procurement processes.
• Experience conducting product education, training, or clinical support activities for healthcare professionals.
• Ability to analyze market trends and translate customer insights into territory growth opportunities.
