What you'll do:

As a PII Business Analyst, you'll play a critical role in monitoring, tracking, and coordinating activities related to Personally Identifiable Information (PII) within the Bank. In this role, you’ll work closely with internal business units to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and best practices for handling, storage, and use of PII. You’ll follow-up with your internal customers to support the bank’s overall data governance framework to protect sensitive customer and employee information.

• Responsible for assisting in distributing, maintaining and optimizing recurring reports to track business PII data.  Develop data visualizations where needed to communicate key metrics and insights effectively. Conduct regular risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities in data management processes. Evaluate the effectiveness of existing controls in protecting sensitive information. Ensure policies are communicated effectively across the organization. Act as a liaison between departments to ensure a unified approach to data governance.
• Perform analysis on datasets to identify trends, insights, and areas for improvement. Work with business stakeholders to understand PII data reporting needs and translate them into actionable analysis. Ensure data accuracy and integrity by performing data validation and regular quality checks. Partner with teams across the business to gather data requirements enhancements for PII scanning.
• Maintain documentation of reporting processes and methodologies. Continuously monitor data handling practices to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, policies, standards and procedures regarding PII, PCI, and PHI. Implement or learn tools and processes for tracking and reporting data usage and access. Follow up with internal employees with any violations. Provide regular updates to management on compliance status and data governance initiatives as it pertains to PII role.
• Establish a follow-up protocol for addressing violations of data governance policies. Document corrective actions taken and track the progress of compliance efforts. Prepare and present reports on data governance metrics, audit findings, and compliance status to stakeholders. Maintain accurate records of all monitoring activities and incidents for audit purposes.
• Support lines of business in all aspects of data governance to ensure sufficient accountability, ownership, and involvement from all stakeholders. 
• Support PII/NPI/PHI scans and resolve discrepancies documented in information technology tracking.
• Support Data Governance in the execution of special projects (as assigned). 

What you'll need:

• Bachelor’s Degree and 1+ years' experience in the financial industry in analytics or 6+ years of work experience without a degree.  
• Demonstrated ability to manage time and prioritize projects to meet deadlines. 
• Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
• Strong critical thinking skills.  
• Attention to detail.
• General knowledge of business operations, strategies, processes, and information flow. 
• Customer-focused mindset and ability to build relationships with key internal customers. 
• Capacity to work independently and in a team environment.

• Entry level knowledge of general banking operations, including deposit operations, loan administration, treasury management and/or other commercial banking products and services.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications – PowerPoint, Excel, Word.
• Entry level knowledge of general banking operations, including deposit operations, loan administration, treasury management and/or other commercial banking products and services.
• Entry level knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices.
• Entry level to intermediate experience with data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Excel) and data visualization platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
• Entry level to intermediate experience presenting findings from large datasets in a clear, actionable way.
