Dual Credit Mentor & Academy Coordinator (part-time/884 hours/year) @ Any Northwood Tech Campus Location

Overview

Northwood Technical College is seeking applications from qualified candidates for a part-time Dual Credit Mentor & Academy Coordinator at any of our four campus locations. (Ashland, New Richmond, Rice Lake, or Superior)

 

This position reports to the Dean, Manufacturing, Power Technologies, & K12 Relations. Primary responsibilities include building collaborative relationships with high school and college educators; mentoring high school teachers in the delivery of college-level coursework; and facilitating the implementation of dual credit academies that align secondary education, postsecondary pathways, and workforce needs. This is a part-time remote position, with flexible hours scheduled primarily during the academic year.

 

*This is a part-time position scheduled primarily during the academic year that involves duties that could be performed in a remote or off-site environment and requires availability for periodic in-person meetings and other campus-based duties, scheduled as needed.

 

Remote work arrangements are subject to state employment laws. Employees residing in certain states, including Minnesota, may have additional on-campus work requirements. 

 

 

Responsibilities

• Meet onsite and virtually with high school teachers of articulated courses to verify course content and student outcomes compatibility with Northwood Technical College expectations, with particular attention to first year articulation agreement teachers.
• Facilitate the development, recruitment, enrollment and completion of high school dual enrollment academies.
• Assist and offer constructive feedback to high school teachers to support Northwood Technical College curricular content, rigor, assessment, and grading standards (including but not limited to lesson planning and delivery methods).
• Communicate via telephone, email, web conferencing, or onsite to review course progress and promptly address questions pertaining to articulation processes (syllabi submission, course registrations, and grade submission, etc.).
• Collaborate with the other members of the Career Prep and K12 Relations team, Associate Deans, Faculty Mentors, and others as needed concerning dual enrollment courses and academies.
• Document and share classroom visit evaluations and outcomes as part of course review process.
• Connect teachers to faculty mentors for assistance with curriculum, assessments, syllabi, and lesson plans.
• Distribute Career Prep information and materials such as the Articulation Handbook, etc..
• Review high school course offerings to ensure currency and accuracy relevant to dual credit course offerings.
• Attend all Career Prep and Dual Credit Day meetings.
• Set and monitor professional goals with supervisor annually.
• Work non-standard hours including evening and weekend hours and must be able to travel to Northwood Technical College campuses and high schools within the Northwood Tech region.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Degree & Experience Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in related field
• Two years related work experience
• One year Supervisory/Leadership experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally
• Ability to contribute to a team environment while maintaining accountability and motivation in self and others
• Strong customer service skills that focus on diversity, community, and continuous quality improvement
• Problem-solving skills that employ critical thinking
• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite and the ability to effectively apply technology to tasks and projects
• Ability to obtain driver’s license and insurance coverage in accordance with College policy

Salary

FY27 Salary - Grade K - $30.73 / hour
