About the Job
We are looking for an experienced Microsoft Database Administrator to support critical ICT infrastructure and database services for a leading European institution.
In this role, you will be responsible for the administration, optimization, monitoring, and support of enterprise database environments based on Microsoft technologies. You will work closely with infrastructure specialists, software development teams, service management teams, and business stakeholders to ensure high availability, performance, security, and operational excellence across database and business intelligence platforms.

Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain Microsoft SQL Server database environments.
- Monitor database performance, availability, and capacity to ensure optimal service delivery.
- Perform database tuning and optimization activities.
- Deploy, configure, and support database solutions across distributed environments.
- Troubleshoot database incidents and perform root-cause analysis.
- Manage database backup, recovery, and maintenance activities.
- Design and implement ETL processes and data transformation solutions.
- Support and maintain Business Intelligence platforms, including SSRS, SSIS, and Power BI.
- Implement database changes following established IT service management and change management processes.
- Provide second-level support for database-related incidents and service requests.
- Collaborate with developers, infrastructure engineers, and support teams to ensure seamless service integration.
- Monitor database services and related infrastructure components.
- Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and knowledge repositories.
- Contribute to continuous service improvement initiatives and operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with security, governance, and best-practice standards.
Profile Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Microsoft Database Administrator in enterprise environments.
- Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server administration and support.
- Experience with database monitoring, performance tuning, capacity planning, and optimization.
- Solid knowledge of ETL processes and data integration techniques.
- Experience with Microsoft Business Intelligence technologies, including SSRS, SSIS, and Power BI.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working with incident, change, and service management processes.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues in production environments.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as in cross-functional teams.
- Professional proficiency in English.

- Experience supporting large-scale or highly regulated environments.
- Knowledge of ITIL practices and IT service management frameworks.
- Experience working in international and multicultural environments.
- Familiarity with automation and scripting for database administration tasks.
