Network Security & Infrastructure Engineer
R32 000 – R34 000
Based on-site in Umhlanga

We're seeking an experienced Network Security & Infrastructure Engineer to maintain the reliability and security of our global IT infrastructure — spanning voice, network, security, and hosting — while providing technical design and escalation support for customer projects.
Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and resolve network and infrastructure issues, engaging vendors and customers as needed
- Manage and optimise firewall security (FortiGate), including policies, NAT, VPNs, HA/failover, and security services (IPS/IDS, web filtering, SSL inspection)
- Configure and troubleshoot site-to-site and remote-access VPNs (IPsec/SSL)
- Support customer engagements — building proposals, technical documentation, and infrastructure designs
- Proactively identify vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies
- Monitor performance, capacity, and security events across the infrastructure; assist with reporting and documentation
- Share knowledge through training and documentation for support/engineering teams
Education/ Experience:
- 4+ years' enterprise firewall and network security experience (FortiGate/FortiOS essential; Palo Alto or Cisco Meraki advantageous)
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NAT, VLANs, subnetting, and Layer 2/3 networking
- Hands-on experience with BGP, OSPF, static routing, and WAN/LAN/cloud connectivity
- Skilled in firewall logging, SIEM platforms, and security-event investigation
- Proficient with Wireshark, tcpdump, and CLI diagnostic tools
- Relevant network/security certifications (e.g. NSE 5/6) advantageous; ISO 27001/PCI exposure a plus
- Linux/Unix experience a plus
