Registrar - Endoscopy Center
General Job Summary: The Registrar in Tryon Endoscopy Center performs the secretarial and general office duties for the facility.
(This position will support our Endoscopy Center at Ballantyne Monday - Friday 5:45 am to 2:15 pm)
Primary Job Responsibilities/Tasks may include, but not limited to:
- Answers phones, greets patients, visitors, and serves as receptionist for the facility.
- Schedules surgical procedures, completes registration information, and enters demographic information into database as necessary.
- Make patient charts for each procedure day.
- Types up correspondence and provides clerical support for all areas of the facility.
- Organizes office operation and procedures such as record keeping, filing systems, etc.
- Assist in maintaining an adequate inventory of office supplies. Maintains various office machinery such as copiers, computers, printers, fax, and shredder.
- Compiles any reports needed.
- Performs other tasks as needed.
- Assist with Insurance verification
- Participate in the Risk Management Program by identifying and reporting adverse incidents, and completing annual Risk Management education
- Maintains knowledge of Athena computer system.
- Maintain a working knowledge of the Mod-Med software for Gastroenterology as it relates to coding, patient information, and scheduling.
- Post payments into Athena
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Position Education/Qualifications:
- High school diploma required. Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred. Two years related experience preferred.
- Knowledge of Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, Power Point, and Windows Explorer is required.
- Understanding of applicable medical terminology.
- Completion of Hepatitis B Vaccine and Flu Vaccine Form will be required. Candidate may decline vaccination through declination form or may provide record of vaccination from previous employer.
- Completion of TB test will be required.
Physical Requirements
- Work consistently requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling.
- Must be able to lift and support weight of 35 pounds
- Ability to concentrate on details.
- Must speak and read English very well.
- Must have the ability to deal effectively with patients, staff, and physicians.
- Will require some analysis of data or report information.
- Must have the ability to search for solutions, direct activities of others.

Machine, Tools, and Equipment
Requires the ability to maintain office equipment, such as a copier, printer, PC, shredder, and fax machine.

Will limit access to protected health information (PHI) to the information reasonably necessary to do the job.
Will share information only on a need to know basis for work purposes.
