Description
Your Contributions:
- Plan and direct testing that supports development of unconventional electric-powered drones and aircraft. Testing will include:
- Ground testing of aircraft subsystems
- Ground and flight testing of testbed aircraft, from subscale to full-scale
- Coordinate schedule and resource planning for all test activities.
- Specify, procure, and integrate test instrumentation.
- Post-process and analyze test data. Compile test reports.
- Document test plans and activities as needed to satisfy airworthiness/permit-to-fly and other testing requirements.
- Coordinate requirements and planning for test facilities and other test hardware.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field
- 3+ years of professional experience.
- Experience with subsystems, ground, and flight testing, including test planning, execution, and post-test data analysis.
- Familiarity with data acquisition systems.
- Specific experience with avionics systems and other on-board electronics.
- Specific experience with databus systems used in aviation (CAN, ARINC, etc.)
- Ability to travel to various flight test locations.
- Excellent English language skills, German language skills are a plus.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Familiarity with MATLAB and LabVIEW software.
- Experience with the development of uncrewed aircraft (drones) or other unconventional aircraft, including integration and test activities.
- Experience working with national aviation authorities for aircraft and/or drone flight test authorizations.
