Job Description Summary

You will manage the accounting and closing processes of commercial projects in GE Vernova’s Onshore Wind business as part of the Commercial Controllership team. This involves General Ledger accounting, project accounting, account reconciliations, maintaining strong controls, driving operational excellence and efficiency in a team that is very close to the actual business events of wind turbine sales and project execution.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Timely, and accurate preparation of activities required for quarter-end and month-end closing (performing accounting, ERP module closing, balance sheet reviews and analysis according to the business deadlines).

  • Periodically review and analyze project financials, proactively identify issues/problems and lead their resolution.
  • Review wind turbine sales contracts for revenue recognition purposes.
  • Build strong partnership with stakeholders across functions, including close cooperation with project management, project finance and other controllership teams.
  • Lead various operational initiatives (e. g. simplifications, system changes, new policies implementation, etc.)
  • Prepare and review monthly and quarterly balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Ensure controllership & compliance with especially ASC606 as well as GE Vernova’s accounting policies in general.
  • Prepare/update documentation of revenue recognition controls.
  • Ensure that internal controls and check points are in place and are followed.
  • Coordinate, review and support day-to-day accounting and close activities performed by outsourced teams.
  • Support external and internal audits.
  • Besides the main tasks and responsibilities listed above, be responsible for completing any other tasks assigned by her/his supervisor or manager.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in finance or economics
  • Strong experience with General Ledger accounting.
  • Advanced computer skills: ERP, Microsoft Excel.
  • Fluent in Business English.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment.
  • Ability to manage different priorities at the same time and deliver under tight deadlines.
  • Good communication skills: experience in working with multiple stakeholders, functions and regions and ability to deliver the message effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Compliance and controllership mindset, analytical thinking.
  • Flexible approach with a strong team spirit.
  • Proactive and energetic, ability to proactively lead the resolution of complex issues.

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience with Oracle-based ERP systems.
  • Experience with project accounting.
  • Experience with the wind energy business.
  • Ability to work independently with a high degree of proactivity and self-driven learning ability.
  • Familiarity with Large Language Models (ie. “AI”) and their practical implementation in finance.
