Decommissioning Consultant

Mission Overview:

Keystone Solutions is seeking a skilled consultant for a critical mission at a client site focused on digital transformation. The project involves transitioning a legacy ADABAS/Natural database environment from BS2000 to a new Linux platform while ensuring existing operations remain uninterrupted. As a consultant, you will be representing Keystone Solutions and will be engaged in building technical modules for data extraction and transformation, as well as establishing a replication mechanism to ensure parallel functionality between the BS2000 and Linux environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze existing legacy processes and interpret data objects accurately.
• Develop technical modules that facilitate data extraction, transformation, replication, and validation towards the Linux platform.
• Work on mechanisms to ensure the BS2000 and Linux environments function in parallel without altering existing feeding processes initially.
• Conduct testing and validation, including technical test scenarios, source and target data comparisons, reconciliation checks, and documentation of test results and corrective actions.

Requirements:

• Strong knowledge of the BS2000 mainframe environment, particularly Natural and ADABAS.
• Ability to analyze and understand poorly documented legacy applications.
• Proficiency in documenting analyses, developed modules, mappings, test results, and technical decisions clearly and structured.
• Proactive approach to identifying missing information, signaling risks, and proposing solutions.
• Capability to prioritize tasks within a complex environment with multiple databases and technical dependencies.
• Test-oriented mindset to ensure data is transferred correctly, completely, timely, and reliably.
