Position Summary...
Join Walmart as a Distinguished Technical Program Manager– International Tech Platforms to support the VP, International Supply Chain, Martech and Financial Services Tech Platforms at Walmart Global Tech. International Tech is responsible for building and scaling product-led technology platforms that power Walmart’s business in markets including Mexico, Chile, Canada, and beyond.This is a high-impact, deeply technical role at the intersection of product, engineering, and strategic operations across Walmart’s international markets. You will lead platform strategy and execution, acting as a trusted thought partner to stakeholders across the organization. You will drive clarity, influence technology and platform direction, enable scalable solutions, and ensure alignment and successful execution of key global engineering initiatives.
The role requires fluency in software and product development life cycles, platform architecture, data and product strategy, and Agile delivery models, as well as the ability to synthesize technical complexity into clear strategic direction.
You’ll lead with both precision and influence, helping to operationalize our technological and product vision and execute at scale across multiple countries and cross-functional teams. What You’ll Do
- Shape and execute technology and product platform strategy for Supply Chain, Martech & Financial Services in partnership with the VP of International Tech, translating long-term goals into actionable roadmaps and programs across engineering, product, and data teams.
- Own and drive technical program and product execution, ensuring delivery of high-priority initiatives related to platform modernization, AI adoption, developer experience, developer productivity and systems integration.
- Track product and platform adoption across markets, measure business and customer impact, and drive the retirement of legacy systems.
- Translate customer, associate, market, product and business needs into clear technology requirements, success metrics, roadmap priorities, and scalable platform capabilities.
- Partner with Product Management and Engineering to guide product discovery, prioritization, sequencing, launch readiness, and lifecycle decisions for international platform products.
- Ensure platform investments deliver measurable product outcomes, including adoption, efficiency, reliability, customer experience, and business impact across markets.
- Lead data-informed portfolio and product planning using delivery KPIs, product adoption metrics, customer and market insights, architectural inputs, and headcount forecasting to improve speed, scale, and efficiency.
- Develop and manage team operating rhythms (e.g., OKRs, PI Planning, QBRs), governance structures, and escalation pathways.
- Coordinate executive updates, technical communications, and board-level materials that highlight engineering/platform progress, product outcomes, risk mitigation, and strategic bets.
- Serve as a center of gravity for decision-making, collaboration, and knowledge sharing across international eCommerce engineering, product, and market teams.
- Lead initiatives to reduce tech debt, accelerate release velocity, improve platform scalability, and strengthen product reliability across U.S., Mexico, Chile, Canada, and beyond.
- As Chief of Staff for VP Intl Tech , IDC you will coordinate with other peer COS in Intl tech to drive cohesive roadmaps and give visibility of metrics from IDC engineering teams
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related technical field required; MBA or equivalent experience a plus.
- 10+ years of experience in technical program management, product management, engineering leadership, or technology operations.
- Strong knowledge of software architecture, Agile/SAFe frameworks, enterprise systems, and cloud technologies (Azure, GCP, or AWS).
- Proven success in driving large-scale, cross-functional product and engineering programs, ideally in a global, matrixed organization.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills — able to explain complex technical and product issues to executive audiences and influence outcomes.
- Comfortable navigating and resolving ambiguity; thrives in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to lead without authority and influence senior stakeholders across engineering, product, finance, and business domains.
- Expertise in technical and product planning tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, PowerBI) and engineering/product metrics (velocity, DORA, cycle time, automated test coverage, adoption, usage, reliability, and business impact).
- Experience defining tech and product strategy, roadmap tradeoffs, product requirements, success metrics, and outcome-based prioritization for technical platforms.
- Ability to use analytics, customer insights, market feedback, and experimentation to guide platform decisions and improve platform adoption.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in retail, eCommerce, logistics, enterprise platforms, or product management for large-scale technology platforms
- Familiarity with international market nuances (e.g., data localization, GDPR, multilingual tooling)
- Experience working directly with Distinguished Engineers, Technical Architects, Product Leaders, or SVPs/CTOs
- Master’s degree in Computer science, Engineering, Business Administration, or related area.
