Summary
The Assistant Rowing Coach supports the Head Coach in all aspects of the rowing program,
helping to deliver effective practices, foster athlete development, and ensure a safe and
inclusive team environment. This role involves working directly with student-athletes while
also assisting with team organization, administrative tasks, and competition planning.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Participate with the head coach in running practices, including on land and on water as needed.
- Drive a launch and supervise boats on the water independently, including teaching novice rowers the fundamentals of rowing, fitness, and safety.
- Work with the Head Coach to build and maintain team rosters.
- Coordinate with the school athletic department to maintain proper safety and eligibility documentation.
- Assist in coordinating logistics for competitions, including schedules, equipment preparation, and volunteer/parent organization.
- Other duties as assigned

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Rowing experience at the high school, college, or masters (adult) level. Competitive experience is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Strong organizational skills and a willingness to hone existing skills and learn new ones
- Previous coaching experience or other experience working with children of any sort is preferred but not required.
This position requires a background check and completion of the Safe Environment Training course offered through the Archdiocese of Louisville before interacting with students
