Description
Key Responsibilities
- Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on mobile plant and quarry equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical faults.
- Maintain and repair mobile crushers, screens, feeders, conveyors, excavators, loading shovels, dump trucks and associated quarry equipment.
- Respond promptly to breakdowns and carry out safe, effective emergency repairs.
- Replace worn or damaged components using approved methods.
- Support fabrication and welding repairs where competent.
- Ensure all equipment is repaired to a high standard before returning to service.
- Complete scheduled inspections and servicing in line with maintenance plans.
- Conduct routine equipment checks and identify defects before failures occur.
- Accurately record maintenance activities and service records.
- Contribute to improving maintenance schedules and plant reliability.
- Assist with root cause analysis following equipment failures.
- Support efficient repair planning to minimise maintenance costs and downtime.
- Ensure effective use of replacement parts and maximise component lifespan.
- Report recurring issues and recommend long-term engineering solutions.
- Assist in monitoring maintenance expenditure and identifying refurbishment opportunities.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Experience in an industrial maintenance environment would be advantageous.
- Positive attitude towards, and proven commitment to, health and safety.
- Experience of mechanical and electrical fault finding.
- Knowledge of diesel engines and hydraulic systems.
- Experience working with crushing and screening equipment.
- Competence in cutting, grinding, welding and fabrication.
- Ability to carry out a wide range of general maintenance activities.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to equipment reliability and performance.
