Job Description:

JOIN OUR TEAM: poised for growth and delivering excellence in all that we do.

We recognize the catalyst role our operations can play in local communities and commit to engaging with and investing in local communities and leaving a positive legacy. We do this by implementing the highest standards of sustainability, as well as the necessary plans, procedures, metrics, and targets to meet our commitments every single day.

Joining SSR Mining is being part of a diverse team committed to ensuring that safety comes first, an innovative mindset is encouraged, and collaboration is a constant.

At SSR Mining – Seabee Gold Operation we understand the value of a diverse workforce and we embrace, encourage and support workplace inclusion and diversity. New ideas, perspectives, experiences, and expertise make Seabee Gold Operation stronger. We are committed to building a diverse workforce reflecting the communities we operate in. Our vision is to create a culture where inclusion is the goal, and a diverse and representative workforce is our measure of success. Seabee Gold Operation is committed to providing an inclusive selection process, free from systemic barriers, support employment equity and encourage all members of underrepresented groups (i.e., women, Indigenous peoples, persons with disabilities and members of racialized groups/visible minorities) to voluntarily disclose. Seabee Gold Operation welcomes applicants from all backgrounds, abilities, and experiences to apply.

SSR Mining – Seabee Gold Operation is hiring for a Capital Projects Engineer.

About Your New Role:

Reporting to the Superintendent of Capital Projects and Support Operations, the Capital Projects Engineer, and dedicated cross-shift, will support the full lifecycle of internal engineering and construction projects at Seabee Gold Operation - from early scoping through to commissioning. This small project team works alongside a multi-disciplinary team to deliver on SSR's core project principles (Safety, Quality, Scope, Schedule, and Cost) in support of the Capital Project program at Seabee.

This role requires someone comfortable moving between the office and the field, building strong business cases, review drawings, while supervising contractors on-site during execution.  Strong communication skills will be critical to a candidate’s success, as this person will work closely with operations, external contractors, site leadership, and other key stakeholders.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead capital projects end-to-end (scoping, planning, design, procurement, execution, and commissioning) ensuring safe, on-time, on-budget delivery

  • Build project charters, cost estimates, and business cases in collaboration with site stakeholders

  • Develop and communicate execution strategies, schedules, and cost management plans

  • Coordinate resources and activities across Seabee teams, stakeholders, and contractors

  • Supervise contractors directly during construction, ensuring work stays within scope and is performed safely

  • Identify project risks and opportunities early, and manage variances with clear reporting to stakeholders

  • Run stakeholder meetings to align on goals and gather input throughout the project

  • Champion site safety standards in everything you do

  • Including any other assigned tasks

Your Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proven track record delivering projects using established project management methods

  • Strong negotiation, conflict resolution, and relationship-building skills across operational and external stakeholders

  • Skilled at facilitating meetings and briefings that build consensus

  • Confident communicator, verbal and written, across technical, professional, and management audiences

  • Sharp problem-solver who can navigate ambiguity and resolve issues efficiently

  • Comfortable producing and editing project documents and presentations

  • Adaptable under shifting priorities and tight deadlines

Your Education and Experience:

Post-secondary degree or diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Mining, Geological, Chemical, or Civil Engineering, or a related field

  • 5+ years of direct experience in project or construction engineering, ideally in mining or another industrial setting

  • PMP certification is an asset

  • Experience with industrial facilities, remote operations, and shift work is an asset, but not requirement

About Our Working Conditions:

This position has a schedule of one (1) week on, one (1) week off at our remote camp in northern Saskatchewan, working 11-hour days. The chosen candidate will be required to fly in / fly out of the site on designated days from a pick-up point in either Saskatoon, Prince Albert or La Ronge.  This role includes a competitive compensation package, which includes participation in the Short-Term Incentive Plan (STIP), providing a targeted but non-guaranteed bonus based upon your and the company’s annual performance. Unscheduled Overtime opportunities will exist throughout the year as well.

Our Stipulations:

This job posting complies with all Company standards, policies and procedures pertaining to appropriate conduct for employees, including the Code of Conduct. Our Respect in the Workplace policy, Safety, Health & Environment policies, and any other applicable standards, policies and procedures are implemented and or revised by the Company or by Legislation.

Employment Equity:

At SSR Mining – Seabee Gold Operation, we are dedicated to developing a talented and diverse workforce that reflects the communities where we operate. We actively promote employment equity and invite applicants to voluntarily indicate if they belong to a designated group during the hiring process. Employment equity is not about quotas or hiring individuals who are not qualified. Rather, it aims to broaden the pool of qualified candidates — including women, Indigenous peoples, visible minorities, and individuals with disabilities — and to eliminate barriers that may hinder their full participation in the workforce.

Women:

This describes a person who self identifies a woman. The definition recognizes that gender is a self-identification that does not necessarily match the sex of an individual.

Aboriginal People:

As per the definition contained in the Canadian Employment Equity Act, Aboriginal Peoples, refers to persons who are Indian, Inuit or Métis.

Persons with Disabilities:

Examples include, but are not limited to:

  • Blindness or visual impairment (unable to see or having difficulty seeing, glaucoma; however, this does not include persons who can see well with glasses or contact lenses)

  • Co-ordination or dexterity impairment (difficulty using hands or arms, for example, grasping or handling tools or using a keyboard)

  • Deafness or hearing impairment (unable to hear or having difficulty hearing)

  • Mobility impairment (difficulty moving around, walking long distances or difficulty moving using stairs)

  • Speech impairment (unable to speak or difficulty speaking and being understood)

  • Other disabilities (e.g., learning disabilities, developmental disabilities and all other types of disabilities)

Members of Visible Minorities:

Examples include, but are not limited to:

  • Non-white Latin American (including Indigenous people from Central and South America)

  • Black

  • East Asian (e.g., Chinese, Japanese, Korean)

  • South Asian/East Indian (e.g., Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, or East Indian from Guyana, Trinidad or East Africa)

  • Southeast Asian (e.g., Burmese, Cambodian, Filipino, Laotian, Thai, Vietnamese)

  • Non-white West Asian, North African or Arab (e.g., Iranian, Lebanese, Egyptian, Libyan)

  • People of mixed origin (e.g. with one parent member of a visible minority group)

The information you are asked to provide is essential for Seabee Gold Operation to comply with the requirements of the Federal Contractors Legislation, and in helping Seabee Gold Operation identify and address workplace barriers by developing employment equity programs and policies. Although participation in completing this survey is voluntary, it is important for us to obtain the most accurate representation of our current workforce.

The information you provide will be kept CONFIDENTIAL and will be used to compile an overview of Seabee Gold Operation's workforce for government compliance purposes. In addition, the summarized results will be used to determine the distribution of designated group members in our workforce, analyze the current results, and track future progress in achieving a representative workforce. This information will not be placed in your employee files.
