Location: Adkins, TX 78101
Pay: $30 per hour
Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 7:00 a.m.-5:45 p.m.
Employment Type: Full-time, W-2, on-site
Reports To: Operations Manager / Production Manager

Position Summary
Top Metal Solutions is seeking an experienced, hands-on Production Lead to help coordinate daily shop activities across fabrication, welding, assembly, finishing, and shipping.
This position is ideal for an experienced fabricator, welding lead, shop lead, or production lead who is ready to take greater responsibility for daily workflow, employee coordination, quality, and project completion.
The Production Lead works closely with management and shop employees to communicate priorities, organize daily assignments, monitor project progress, and keep work moving safely and efficiently.
The successful candidate must be bilingual in English and Spanish and able to communicate work instructions, production priorities, quality expectations, and safety requirements in both languages.
Key Responsibilities

Coordinate daily shop-floor production activities.

Communicate daily priorities, assignments, deadlines, and performance expectations to production employees.

Help organize and prioritize work based on project deadlines, available materials, workload, and manpower.

Follow projects as they move through Cutting, Fabrication, Welding, Assembly, Paint, and Shipping.

Monitor project status and communicate progress, delays, material shortages, and other concerns to management.

Identify production bottlenecks, workflow problems, and quality concerns.

Help adjust daily employee assignments as production needs change.
-
Support employees in completing work safely, correctly, and on time.

Monitor productivity, quality, work in process, and rework.
-
Verify that completed work meets drawings, specifications, dimensions, and quality requirements.

Identify welding defects, fabrication problems, and other quality concerns.

Help train, coach, and support production employees.
-
Reinforce company expectations regarding attendance, punctuality, productivity, quality, safety, and workplace conduct.

Document and report employee, safety, quality, or production concerns to management.

Help maintain organized, clean, and safe production areas.
-
Support continuous improvement and recommend practical ways to reduce delays, waste, or rework.

Maintain production progress without compromising quality or safety.
Required Qualifications
-
Previous experience as a Production Lead, Welding Lead, Fabrication Lead, Shop Lead, Production Supervisor, or in a similar shop-floor leadership role.

Experience working in metal fabrication, welding, manufacturing, or a related production environment.

Working knowledge of welding processes, including GMAW and FCAW-G.

Working knowledge of fabrication, fit-up, welding, and assembly workflow.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, dimensions, and tolerances.

Ability to recognize welding defects, fabrication problems, and quality concerns.

Ability to organize daily work and manage changing production priorities.

Ability to communicate instructions and expectations clearly and respectfully.

Ability to lead employees firmly, professionally, and consistently.

Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Must be bilingual in English and Spanish.

Reliable attendance, punctuality, and accountability.

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience coordinating work across multiple metal fabrication departments.

Familiarity with industrial finishing processes, including surface preparation, wet paint, or powder coating.

Experience with production scheduling or project tracking.

Experience training or developing production employees.

Experience improving workflow, productivity, quality, or reducing rework.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

Ability to regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds.

Ability to bend, kneel, push, pull, and move throughout production areas.

Ability to work in an active metal fabrication and manufacturing facility.

Employees may be exposed to heat, sparks, dust, noise, industrial coatings, machinery, and heavy equipment.

Required personal protective equipment must be worn at all times.
