Freelance Fashion / Product Developer Designer
Location:
Remote
Job Type: Freelance

Join a dynamic growth marketing agency where precision meets creativity
At STERRY, we're not your average marketing agency—we're the rocket fuel behind crowdfunding and e-commerce success. Since day one, we've helped clients generate over $100 million in trackable online revenue through strategies rooted in measurable performance.

About the Role
We are looking for a highly organized and technically skilled Freelance Fashion / Product Developer Designer to join our team remotely. In this role, you are the critical bridge between our creative design team and our overseas/domestic manufacturing partners.

Since we operate 100% remotely, your success depends on your ability to translate ideas into flawless digital blueprints, manage factory relationships via email and video calls, and self-manage your workflow across different time zones. You will not just draw; you will engineer garments for commercial production.

Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Development
  • Translate initial creative sketches and mood boards into highly detailed digital Tech Packs (using Adobe Illustrator, CLO 3D, or Excel) that include graded specs, construction callouts, stitch types, and trim details.
  • Research, recommend, and source appropriate fabrics, hardware, and wash finishes that match the design intent while meeting cost and sustainability targets.
  • Conduct remote fit sessions (via Zoom/Teams), providing clear digital comments and photos to factories on pattern adjustments and construction fixes.
2. Remote Factory & Vendor Communication
  • Serve as the main point of contact for our manufacturing partners via email, WhatsApp, and scheduled video conferences.
  • Negotiate pricing, lead times, and minimum order quantities (MOQs) remotely.
  • Troubleshoot production issues in real-time by reviewing factory-reported problems through shared digital files (Google Drive, Dropbox) and providing immediate solutions.
3. Project & Timeline Management
  • Own the production calendar from sample stage to bulk delivery, ensuring all milestones are met despite geographic distances.
  • Proactively flag potential delays (e.g., fabric shortages, sample failures) to the internal team using project management tools (e.g., Asana, Trello, or Slack).
4. Quality Assurance & Costing
  • Establish clear quality standards (AQL levels) and ensure factories adhere to them via remote inspection checklists.
  • Breakdown garment costs (Costing Sheets) to ensure the final product sits within the target wholesale and retail margins.

What We Are Looking For
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Fashion Merchandising/Product Development, or related field is a plus—but what truly matters is your attitude and ability to grow. Eagerness to learn is just as valued as experience.
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in fashion product development, technical design, or production management (freelance or in-house).
    • Must have proven experience in apparel development, with specific expertise in intimate wear.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in creating Tech Packs (Adobe Illustrator is a must; CLO 3D or Browzwear is a huge plus). Strong knowledge of woven, knit, and cut-and-sew construction.
  • Remote Work Proficiency:
    • Digital Collaboration: Comfortable using Slack, Zoom, Google Workspace, and other project management tools daily.
    • Communication: Excellent English written and verbal skills
  • Problem Solving: Ability to diagnose a fit or construction issue from photos/videos sent by a factory and explain the fix clearly without being physically present.
  • Home Office Setup: You must have a reliable high-speed internet connection, a quiet space for video calls.
  • Portfolio Requirement: Please submit a portfolio showcasing your relevant apparel and intimate wear development work. Applications without a portfolio will not be considered.
Preferred
  • Experience working directly with Asian or European manufacturing hubs.
  • Familiarity with PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) software.

Why Join STERRY?
