Description
As an Equipment Engineer within the EGIO area, you will be responsible for ensuring the technical availability, performance, and continuous improvement of highly complex production equipment used in semiconductor manufacturing. Leveraging your expertise in implantation, epitaxy, glass-processing technologies, and furnace systems, you will play a key role in maintaining stable, quality-compliant, and cost-efficient manufacturing processes while meeting the highest standards of safety, quality, and productivity. Through proactive problem-solving, equipment optimization, and close collaboration with cross-functional teams, you will contribute directly to manufacturing excellence, product quality, and the company's overall competitiveness.
You will join a highly skilled and interdisciplinary team of approximately 40 engineers, technicians, and support specialists. Key Responsibilities
Equipment Ownership
- Provide technical support, optimization, and further development of production equipment within the EGIO area (Epitaxy, Glass Processes, Implantation, and Furnaces).
- Ensure high equipment availability and process stability.
- Conduct fault analysis and implement sustainable corrective actions.
- Coordinate and oversee preventive maintenance and repair activities.
Process and Quality Optimization
- Analyze equipment and process data to identify improvement opportunities.
- Develop and implement initiatives to improve:
- OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness)
- MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures)
- MTTR (Mean Time To Repair)
- Process Capability (Cp/Cpk)
- Yield and Product Quality
- Perform statistical analyses and root-cause investigations.
- Support the qualification of new processes, products, and equipment upgrades.
Project Management
- Lead and participate in cross-functional improvement projects.
- Plan and implement equipment upgrades and retrofit programs.
- Collaborate with equipment manufacturers, suppliers, and external service providers.
- Prepare technical specifications and requirement documents.
Production Support
- Support escalation management within the manufacturing environment.
- Deliver technical training for operators and maintenance technicians.
Other Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Maintain equipment performance in line with production targets.
- Reduce unplanned equipment downtime.
- Document technical modifications and engineering changes.
- Support audits and ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements.
Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in one of the following disciplines:
- Electrical/ Mechanical/ Microsystems/Process Engineering
- Physics
- Materials Science
- Or a comparable technical field
Professional Experience
- Minumim 3 years of experience in the semiconductor industry or a comparable high-tech manufacturing environment.
- Practical experience in at least one of the EGIO responsibility areas.
Technical Expertise
- Strong understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of SPC (Statistical Process Control), FDC (Fault Detection and Classification), APC (Advanced Process Control), and data analytics.
- Experience with MES and ERP systems.
- Familiarity with vacuum technology, high-temperature processes, gas delivery systems, and cleanroom technologies.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, electrical schematics, and engineering specifications.
