Description

Overview

A warm, thoughtful family in downtown Manhattan is seeking an experienced Full-Time Nanny to provide exceptional care for their infant and grow with their family for years to come.

The family is approaching this search with a strong focus on longevity, stability, and depth of experience. They are hoping to find a seasoned career nanny who has made childcare their profession, has demonstrated long-term commitment to previous families, and is genuinely looking for their next lasting placement.

The ideal candidate brings a calm, grounded confidence to the home. They are knowledgeable enough to recognize developmental needs as they arise, proactive enough to stay several steps ahead, and warm and playful enough to create a loving, engaging childhood environment. As the baby grows through infancy and into the toddler years, the nanny will be a trusted partner to the parents in navigating routines, milestones, enrichment, feeding transitions, and the changing needs of each developmental stage.

The schedule will generally be Monday through Friday, approximately 8:00 AM–6:00 PM, averaging 45–50 hours per week. Flexibility for occasional evenings or Saturdays with advance notice is important.

The family is ready to hire as soon as they identify the right person and would ideally like their new nanny in place before the end-of-year holidays. They are willing to be thoughtful and selective in order to find an exceptional long-term fit.

Responsibilities

    • Provide attentive, loving, and developmentally appropriate care throughout infancy and the early toddler years.
    • Maintain consistent daily routines around feeding, sleep, play, outings, and transitions.
    • Take a proactive approach to developmental milestones and introduce age-appropriate activities as the child grows.
    • Foster curiosity through reading, music, conversation, outdoor time, classes, museums, playdates, and other enrichment.
    • Support feeding transitions, including bottles, solids, and evolving mealtime routines.
    • Maintain clear communication with parents regarding development, routines, observations, and changing needs.
    • Manage child-related laundry, nursery organization, supplies, and daily household resets.
    • Anticipate upcoming needs, including clothing, equipment, developmental materials, and schedule changes.
    • Travel with the family occasionally and provide continuity of care away from home.

Qualifications

    • 8–10+ years of professional nanny experience strongly preferred.
    • Significant recent experience caring for infants and young toddlers is required.
    • Demonstrated longevity with previous families and a history of successful long-term placements.

    • Calm and grounded with a warm, affectionate, and engaging presence.
    • Highly organized, proactive, and naturally attentive to detail.
    • Strong communicator who values partnership with parents.
    • Education or Early Childhood Development background is a plus.
