Supporting IT execution during acquisition and divestiture transactions.

The Impact You’ll Make in this Role 
 

As a Transaction Specialist in IT Mergers & Acquisitions, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world leading acquisition and divestiture activities as part of the broader IT M&A organization at Solventum. 

Here, you will make an impact by: 

  • Leading strategy, governance, and execution for complex acquisition, divestiture, integration, and separation transactions by establishing execution frameworks, prioritizing activities, managing interdependencies, mitigating risks, and driving successful transaction outcomes across multiple concurrent initiatives. 

  • Driving IT due diligence, transaction planning, Transition Services Agreement (TSA) strategy, TSA delivery, and TSA exit activities by partnering with IT functional leaders to assess impacts, define transition approaches, identify risks, and develop solutions to complex business and technology challenges. 

  • Driving enterprise-wide alignment across IT, business leadership, IMO, HR, Legal, Finance, Procurement, Cybersecurity, Architecture, Infrastructure, Data, and Applications organizations to resolve complex issues, influence decisions, remove barriers, and ensure achievement of critical transaction milestones. 

  • Providing strategic leadership and decision support for complex operational, technical, financial, and organizational challenges by developing recommendations, evaluating options and trade-offs, and advising leadership teams on transaction risks, integration strategies, separation plans, and value realization opportunities. 

  • Establishing and continuously enhancing IT M&A operating models, governance frameworks, transaction methodologies, playbooks, tools, and reporting mechanisms to improve consistency, scalability, organizational readiness, and execution effectiveness across the M&A portfolio. 

  • Representing the IT M&A organization with executive stakeholders, external transaction partners, and acquired/divested entities by developing executive communications, governance materials, leadership updates, and decision-support content that enables effective transaction oversight and governance. 

  • Influencing transaction portfolio priorities, resource plans, and execution strategies by providing leadership with actionable insights, dependency assessments, resource recommendations, and risk evaluations that support successful transaction delivery and long-term business objectives. 

 

 

Your Skills and Expertise  
 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications: 

  • Master’s degree or Diploma in Business Administration, Information Technology, Strategy or a related discipline from a top tier institute and a minimum of 10 years of experience in Information Technology, including 7+ years supporting mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, integration, separation, or business transformation activities 

OR 

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited university or High School Diploma/GED from an accredited institution and a minimum of 12 years of experience in Information Technology, including 7+ years supporting mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, integration, separation, or business transformation activities 

  • Minimum 10+ years working with global IT organizations or IT Consulting firms supporting complex technology programs, infrastructure, applications, cybersecurity, digital transformation, or enterprise technology initiatives as part of Transformation/Deal Management office 

  • Demonstrated experience leading complex cross-functional transaction initiatives involving multiple workstreams, stakeholders, technologies, and external partners. 

 

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include: 

  • Master’s degree or Diploma in Business Administration, Information Technology, Strategy or a related discipline 

  • Experience supporting IT due diligence, Day 1 readiness, TSA planning, TSA execution, TSA exit, integration, separation, or carve-out activities in a Consulting firm or as part of M&A office or transformation office in an organization 

  • Strong understanding of enterprise IT capabilities including infrastructure, applications, cybersecurity, architecture, digital workplace, data, and cloud technologies. 

  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex and ambiguous business challenges through structured analysis, stakeholder engagement, and practical recommendations. 

  • Experience developing executive presentations, status reporting, governance materials, and decision-support content for leadership audiences. 

  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders, facilitate cross-functional alignment, manage competing priorities, and drive execution in highly matrixed organizations. 

  • Experience serving as an IT M&A subject matter expert and trusted advisor to senior leadership during transaction planning, diligence, integration, separation, and TSA execution activities. Experience providing consulting assistance and strategic recommendations to senior leadership regarding transaction planning, technology risks, and execution strategies. 

  • Experience leading multiple concurrent transactions and managing enterprise-level dependency, risk, resource, and stakeholder alignment challenges. 

  • Familiarity with AI tools, Microsoft Power Platform, Smartsheet, Power BI, or similar collaboration and reporting technologies.
