About The Opportunity
The T-car Operator will be responsible to empty lines of corrugated stock from the dry end of the corrugator. They will organize the staging of unfinished corrugated and fill the conveyor lines for the flexo presses. Some pushing and heavy lifting of 60 lbs is required on a daily basis. A forklift license is required by all T-car OperatorsCorrugator Department - Transfer Car Operator (Overnight Shift)
Shift: Sunday through Thursday, 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM - Overtime and extended shifts may be required, including 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM as needed to support production demands.
Pay: Training Rate: $27.82 per hour
Qualified Rate: $29.86 per hour
Position Summary: The T-Car Operator plays a critical role in supporting production operations by ensuring corrugated stock is efficiently moved, staged, and supplied to machine centers. This position is responsible for removing corrugated material from the dry end of the corrugator, organizing unfinished inventory, and maintaining a continuous flow of material to production equipment. The ideal candidate will be safety-focused, able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and willing to work overtime when necessary.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Remove corrugated stock from the corrugator down-stacker lines and transport materials to designated staging areas.
- Organize and stage unfinished corrugated materials to support efficient production flow.
- Load and replenish conveyor lines with corrugated stock for flexo presses and other machine centers.
- Monitor conveyor systems and material flow to ensure production equipment remains supplied with necessary materials.
- Transport materials safely and efficiently throughout the facility using powered industrial equipment.
- Maintain accurate inventory organization and proper stock rotation within staging areas.
- Perform routine inspections of equipment and report any safety concerns, material issues, or equipment malfunctions.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with company safety standards.
- Work closely with corrugator and machine center operators to support production schedules and minimize downtime.
- Follow all company policies, safety procedures, quality standards, and work instructions.
Qualifications:
- Must successfully complete training and become fully qualified as a T-Car Operator.
- Forklift certification is required or ability to obtain and maintain forklift certification according to company standards.
- Previous manufacturing, warehouse, or material handling experience preferred.
- Ability to safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment.
- Good communication skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting throughout the shift.
- Regular pushing, pulling, and moving of corrugated materials.
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds on a daily basis.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment that may include noise, dust, temperature fluctuations, and moving equipment.
