Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager.
## What you’ll do:
Job Summary:
A Manufacturing Engineering Manager leads the design, optimization, and monitoring of the production processes, equipment and systems to ensure high quality, safety, efficiency and cost-effectiveness.The primary function of a Manufacturing Engineering Manager is to maximize operational performance by managing manufacturing processes, equipment, technology, and engineering resources while supporting business objectives for safety, quality, delivery, cost, and continuous improvement.
Responsible for the leadership of the Manufacturing Engineers that execute technical assessments of the manufacturing areas, define and execute product efficiency improvements in terms of Manufacturing Processes, determine the adequate use of technologies to assure Quality and productivity. Determine production operation standardized packages including Safety, Operations, Flow/Bottleneck management, methods, Layout distribution, standards, manload, line balancing, standard work layout and equipment required to accomplish customers requirement.
Attain manufacturing excellence goals, in safety, quality and cost. Drive continuous improvement and provide technical support to the manufacturing areas. Determine and execute capacity and flexibility strategies of the workstreams, mid and long term, for Final Brakers and Feeders areas. The same for manufacturing space utilization. Ensure implementation of continuous improvement tools, manage the capital projects portfolio from end to end, drive changes in facilities to arrive at Model Plant status as correspondent.
## Job Responsibilities:
1\. Manufacturing Strategy & Plant Setup
a) Define manufacturing architecture, line design, and capacity plans aligned to cost, quality, and volume targets.
b) Lead equipment, automation, tooling, and test strategy decisions.
c) Drive makes vs. buy and manufacturing footprint decisions.
d) Ensure full factory readiness (materials, equipment, workforce, documentation).
e) Develop, revise, and maintain production standards, standard work instructions, engineering procedures, and process documentation.
f) Establish and maintain equipment and process standards to improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE/OPE) and manufacturing performance.
g) Analyze manufacturing data using statistical methods to identify trends, improve process capability, and optimize production performance.
h) Own and lead engineering projects of moderate to high complexity while meeting safety, quality, cost, and schedule objectives.
i) Develop scalable, repeatable manufacturing processes.
j) Develop and document the Standardize package per line which should include at least: Mfg. Flows, Group of products, time sheets per product, In house Leadtime per product, standard work layout, changeover sheet, others)
2\. Drive continuous improvement
a) Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on process optimization, equipment utilization, downtime reduction, waste elimination, yield improvement, and cost savings focus on Scrap and Productivity labor reduction. Using the CI tools available such as Standard works events, 3P events, time and methods studies using Timer Pro tool, etc.
b) Monitor, improve and define strategy of year over year progress of Scrap, Man load set up and manning process, Poles per Operator.
c) Collaborate with equipment manufacturers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to improve equipment reliability and manufacturing efficiency.
d) Provide engineering support for process improvements, equipment modifications, failure analysis, and production troubleshooting.
e) Apply statistical analysis tools to evaluate and improve process capability, variation, and manufacturing performance.
f) Lead cross-functional issue resolution and root cause analysis.
g) Apply Lean Manufacturing initiatives to enhance the overall effectiveness of manufacturing operations and achieve operational excellence.
h) Apply Lean and Six Sigma tools and drive Lean events to improve process capability and eliminate defects as the same time warrantee the certification of all the roles trained in the Lean & Six Sigma process.
3\. Quality Improvement and Compliance
a) Contribute on Maintain ISO9001 certification.
b) Lead EQMS change control policy deployment and guarantee compliance.
c) Provide technical leadership in resolving manufacturing issues by conducting root cause analysis, implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), an supporting cross-functional investigations.

e) Ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Documentation Practices (GDP), and Data Integrity (DI) requirements.
f) Perform specific functions to this position as described in the Quality Manual.
g) Collaborate on the creation and maintenance of PFMEA, Control Plans, and CTQs.
## Job Responsibilities:
4\. Project Management cycles
a) Handle the Capital portfolio of the site from end to end, overseen planning, approval, execution, expense execution, implementation and Capitalization.
b) Lead capital equipment projects, including equipment specification, design, installation, testing, process qualifications as install, parameters, operations results, and implementation while ensuring compliance with ISO, Prolaunch and regulatory requirements.
c) Develop, update, and maintain engineering, equipment, and process related documentation.
d) Communicate project progress, business opportunities, and operational risks to the Leadership Team while ensuring compliance with corporate policies and applicable regulations.
e) Oversee pilot builds, engineering runs, and production readiness.
f) Drive Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA) improvements and correct selection of work cells strategy through early involvement in NPI projects.
g) Support design reviews, audits, executive updates, quoting with process, cost, and schedule inputs.
h) Partner with Program Management, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations teams.
i) Support Engineering Change Orders (ECO) and Engineering Change Notice (ECN) with full impact assessment.
j) Lead re-transfers, second sourcing, and capacity expansion.
k) Evaluate routing and cost structures for the products affected.
5\. Responsible for the Manufacturing Engineers supervision, evaluation and development

7\. Develop strategies for optimization of the production layouts and Open space for NPIs, transfer products and/or other needs of the operation.
8\. Oversight of the Tool and Die, Maintenance, Automation and Facilities to assure proper support to production processes.
9\. Provide support to manufacturing lines through coordination of maintenance plans with the Set up structure.
10\. Maintain and promote internal and external customer focus for all facility employees. Improve manufacturing performance through the utilization, training, and deployment of Eaton Business System tools.
2.1 - Responsibilities related to Health, Safety and Environment (EHS):
1\. Execute 100% of monthly safety inspection, in coordination with the MESH Coordinator.
2\. Assist to all EHS training assigned.
3\. Promote and promulgate all MESH Process and Policies to all the employees under his/her supervisor and ensure that they are being performed at his/her area / manufacturing line.
4\. Provide all resources needed to ensure that all MESH policies and procedures all performed by his/her personnel under his/her supervision.
5\. Oversee implement and follow up the MESH roadmaps to improve on yearly basis the EHS conditions at the operations and processes.
6\. Lead and execute the Year over year improvement on Ergonomics aspects of the Site.
## Qualifications:
Education level required:
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial, Electric, Electromechanical Engineer (or similar positions)

Years and area of experience required:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience at similar positions. preferably within a regulated manufacturing environment.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience supervising people.
- Experience leading engineering and capital equipment projects.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment testing, and process validations.
- Knowledge and experience in Lean techniques as 3P, Line Balancing, Flow and Space maximization.
- Experience in ISO regulated manufacturing.
Technical knowledge:
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment testing, and process validations.
- Strong knowledge of Root Cause Analysis, FMEA, CAPA, NCR, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Knowledge of statistical analysis, process capability studies, and statistical software such as Minitab.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish).
- Six Sigma Green Belt Certification.
- Project Management Knowledge.
- Lead auditor ISO 9001.
- Lean Certification such as: Bronze, Silver, Tool Expert, ECIS, etc.
- Basic Knowledge about AS400 / Vista/ Enovia/ SAP, other.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, MS Project, AutoCAD, and/or SolidWorks.
