A self-motivated Senior Inventory Specialist/Logistician is needed to support a large, complex, fast-paced program operating within the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe). The program provides systems engineering, development, test, integration, and operational support for a mission-focused system that is continuously incorporating new technology and advanced capabilities while sustaining ongoing mission and operational requirements.
The selected candidate will be responsible for managing hardware, software, and service procurements for a large and complex system consisting of geographically distributed nodes and diverse configurations across a multifaceted network environment. The individual will create and maintain required documentation, and will work closely with Infrastructure Teams, System Test, System Administration, Integration Engineers, and Software Engineers to identify procurement requirements and will track hardware and software status across the program.
Primary Responsibilities
The selected candidate will support the procurement of software licenses and hardware assets throughout the full procurement lifecycle, from requisition through delivery and closeout. The individual will track hardware warranties and software maintenance periods to help prevent any lapse in coverage or support. The selected candidate will monitor multiple ticket queues and respond to requests within established timelines. She/he will support multiple Technical Task Orders, update related Bills of Material, and work with program team members to streamline material procurement in support of program requirements. The selected candidate will also track material movement through the procurement process, resolve issues affecting progress, and work with buyers and material planners to prioritize urgent requests and coordinate timely delivery. In addition, the selected candidate will maintain hardware inventory reports and databases.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and at least 12 years of related experience in Logistics, Quality Control, Data Management, or Hardware/Software Management. Additional experience may be substituted for a degree.
At least 8 years of experience managing IT hardware, and software.
At least 5 years of experience handling purchase requisitions.
At least 3 years of experience with Bills of Material (BOMs).
Proficiency with Excel spreadsheets, including formulas.
Experience researching parts and technical configurations based on engineering specifications.
Experience working with engineers, control account managers, material planners, and buyers to develop, request, and review quotes.
Experience with hardware and software warranties, maintenance, and support.
Experience with software licensing models, including subscriptions and term licenses.
Experience researching and creating RMAs (Return Material Authorizations) using prior purchase information such as serial numbers, government barcodes, model numbers, and purchase dates.
Must be familiar with logistics-related terms and concepts, including the differences among manufacturers, resellers, and vendors.
Must be self-motivated, proactive, and able to independently plan and prioritize daily tasks as well as ongoing projects and processes.
Must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively with engineers, planners, and customers.
Must have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in an Agile environment.
Must have the ability to lift up to 45 pounds of equipment, with or without the use of an aid.
Must be willing to conduct local travel several times per week within a 20-mile radius, as well as approximately 1-2 CONUS trips annually to conduct hardware inventories at program facilities throughout the United States. CONUS travel is expected to range from 3 to 5 days per trip.
Clearance Required: Must have TS/SCI with Polygraph.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience managing multiple purchases simultaneously across various stages of the procurement process, including partial receipts, backorders, goods receipts, data transfers, BOM updates, purchase closeouts, and delivery tracking.
Experience working in an Agile development environment.
System administration experience and/or hands-on experience with hardware and software maintenance.
Experience working as a Quality Control/Quality Assurance Specialist, Configuration Management Analyst, or Auditing Professional, particularly on a large system.
