About the Role
Seaport Entertainment is looking for a Senior Event Sales Manager to be based at the Lawn Club. Reporting directly to the Director of Sales and Events, an experienced event manager possessing a proven track-record of managing internal and external resources in support of client events, budget planning, and collaboration across multiple departments will provide the world-class expertise required for this year-round position.
What You Will Do
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the event planning process, from initial inquiry to event conclusion
Conduct venue tours for prospective clients and assist in the selection of event spaces based on their preferences and requirements
Collaborate with clients to understand their vision, preferences, and budgetary constraints, and provide guidance and recommendations to bring their vision to life
Prepare and present event proposals, contracts, and estimates to clients, ensuring clear communication of services, pricing, and terms
Coordinate all aspects of event logistics, including but not limited to catering, décor, entertainment, audiovisual equipment, and transportation
Manage and mentor junior team members
Liaise with internal departments, vendors, and external partners to ensure seamless execution of event details and adherence to timelines
Conduct site visits and walkthroughs with clients and vendors to finalize event details, layouts, and seating arrangements
Ability to oversee event setup, breakdown, and onsite coordination to ensure that all elements of the event are executed according to plan and meet client expectations when required
Manage event budgets, track expenses, and provide regular updates to clients on budget status and any deviations
Anticipate and troubleshoot potential issues or challenges during events, implementing solutions in real-time to ensure a positive guest experience
Maintain detailed records of event specifications, contracts, payments, and client correspondence in accordance with company policies and procedures
Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, customer service, and hospitality in all interactions with clients, guests, and vendors
Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in event management, incorporating innovative ideas into event planning processes
Ensure that company policies and procedures, safety and other laws, regulations, and requirements are implemented and followed
Ability to manage expectations, processes, and multiple projects simultaneously
Operate ethically to protect the image of the company
Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or requested
About You
5+ years of experience as Special Events Sales Manager in high-volume fine dining operations
Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Strong contacts within the events and meetings industry
Excellent track record of developing strong client relationships
Respond to events and sales inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
Ensure that company policies and procedures, safety and other laws, regulations, and requirements are implemented and followed
Must possess a working knowledge of the systems used within the company; Proficient in Microsoft Office
Experience in managing a combination of full-time, seasonal, and contractor staff
Passionate, entrepreneurial, and dedicated to success
Effective teamwork skills
Strong communication skills (verbal, non-verbal, and electronic)
Genuinely friendly interpersonal skills
Ability to work flexible hours; must be able to maintain a schedule availability flexible to the business demands
Entrepreneurial mentality – Must be a self-starter and excellent time management skills
Physical Requirements
Ability to perform the essential job functions consistent safely and successfully with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs; Ability to stand for prolong periods of time and climb steps regularly.
Ability to physically maneuver through work areas; bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms, and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment.
Compensation: $75k – 85k
