Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) – PRN

Pay Range: $40.00–$45.00 per hour, based on experience

Orchard Post Acute is seeking a compassionate and motivated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our rehabilitation team on a PRN basis. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a supportive interdisciplinary team while helping residents improve their independence and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide occupational therapy treatments under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist
• Follow individualized plans of care and established therapy goals
• Assist residents with activities of daily living, mobility, coordination, strength, and functional skills
• Teach residents how to safely use adaptive equipment and techniques
• Observe and document residents’ progress, responses to treatment, and changes in condition
• Communicate resident updates and concerns to the supervising Occupational Therapist
• Educate residents, families, and caregivers on exercises, safety, and treatment recommendations
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
• Collaborate with nursing, rehabilitation, and other interdisciplinary team members
• Follow all facility policies and applicable state and federal regulations

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
• Current California COTA license in good standing
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Previous skilled nursing or long-term care experience preferred
• Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills
• Compassionate, dependable, and committed to resident-centered care
