Description
Description
CAKE Mortgage is a cutting-edge wholesale mortgage lender specializing in Non-QM products. We're redefining the lending experience with innovative programs, streamlined processes, and a commitment to speed, precision, and operational excellence. The Lead Encompass Administrator owns CAKE's Encompass environment and TPO Connect portal. The job splits between day-to-day administration and project work: building rules and workflows, improving how loans move through the system, and raising the standard for how the platform is configured, tested, and changed. You will be the escalation point for Encompass issues, the owner of the enhancement roadmap, and engineering's partner as we build our custom TPO platform. This is a functional and technical lead role that operates with significant autonomy.
Key Responsibilities
- Run day-to-day Encompass administration: users, personas, permissions, business rules, forms, templates, investor and program updates, and support requests.
- Design and build business rules and workflow automation that cut manual work, shorten cycle times, and improve data quality.
- Administer TPO Connect and the third-party integrations connected to Encompass, including configuration, testing, and vendor coordination.
- Set and enforce platform standards: naming, documentation, change control, and testing before anything reaches production.
- Own the enhancement roadmap with Operations, Underwriting, Closing, Compliance, and Sales. Prioritize requests, assess impact, and deliver.
- Partner with engineering on our custom TPO platform: data mapping, workflow parity, testing, and cutover.
- Serve as the escalation point for production issues. Run root cause analysis and vendor escalations through to resolution.
- Keep configurations, access, and changes audit ready. Support compliance reviews and exams.
- Train users on material changes and document what you build.
- Set standards, review complex configuration work, and mentor administrators and power users as a functional and technical lead.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
- 6+ years administering Encompass in a mortgage lending environment.
- Deep hands-on experience with personas, permissions, custom fields, input forms, templates, business rules, and workflow automation.
- Experience administering TPO Connect or supporting a TPO channel.
- Experience running system changes end to end: requirements, design, testing, deployment, documentation, and support.
- Working knowledge of mortgage operations from Processing through Closing.
- Non-QM or wholesale lending experience strongly preferred.
- Encompass Administrator certification or other ICE Mortgage Technology certification strongly preferred.
- Strong systems thinking; able to trace how a rule change ripples through workflows, reports, and downstream teams before making it.
- Experience running a production incident from triage through root cause, vendor escalation, and a lasting fix.
- Excellent communication skills with operators, executives, and engineers, with strong documentation habits.
