Job Description:
The Bell County District Clerk’s office is accepting applications for a Deputy Clerk I position. This position will perform clerical duties for the department, including typing, data entry, and customer service. Proposed compensation: $18.60-$18.60, plus benefits package.
The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this position. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the position as necessary.
- Qualified applicants will be well-organized, detail-oriented individuals with the ability to multitask and work well under pressure with flexibility and professionalism.
- Qualified applicants must possess excellent customer service skills with the ability to interact with the public and co-workers.
- Applicant must possess basic computer skills, knowledge of office equipment, excellent communication and organizational skills.
- The ability to meet the public in a professional, polite, and effective manner is also a must.
- Applicant will process information by collecting and verifying the accuracy of information, documenting to the system, and collecting and receipting filing fees.
- Qualified applicant will provide clerical support and perform general office duties to include, but not limited to answering the telephone, making copies, preparing and mailing documents, filing, and assisting with any function essential to the office.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires a high school diploma or GED; supplemented by six (6) months of clerical or administrative support experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Physical Demands:
- Performs sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time.

Special Certifications and Licenses:
- Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving history.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language.
