PROGRAM AND LOCATION: VOA-NCNN, a Certified Great Place to Work, is recruiting for a full-time Life Skills Coach for the Adolfo Housing Program at our Mather Community Campus. Full-time employees (working 30 or more hours a week) are eligible for a benefits package that includes paid holidays, vacation, sick pay, health, dental, vision, life, and short-term disability insurance coverage.
Responsibilities
This position is responsible for the development of life skills training plans to assist participants in developing a greater degree of self-reliance. It will include accessing continuing education, employment, and addressing any bio, psycho, social issues that may lead to homelessness, criminal behavior, or otherwise non-productive lifestyles. The Life Skills Coach will provide quality services in the areas of housing, job placement, mental or physical health areas, for long-term support.
Responsible for performing daily work requirements to achieve established objectives of the department.
Responsible for assistance with client development.
Record keeping and communication.
Responsible for all areas of daily program maintenance in compliance with company policies.
Responsible for self-development.
Qualifications
EQUIVALENT EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor of Arts Degree in a related Psychology /Social Services field, and/or at least three years of experience as a Community Social Worker/ Case Manager, as it relates to the psychological or social needs of young adults is required. Must have knowledge and experience in working in the local communities related to youth, community violence, risk factors that lead to violence and successful intervention programs to correct these deficiencies. This position requires demonstrated ability in record keeping, good written and verbal communication skills, and average or above average computer skills. Must pass all required background clearances in accordance with agency, County, State, and federal standards. CPR/First Aid certification is required within 90 days of employment. Completion and maintenance of all required training and health clearances.
