We’re currently looking for a high caliber professional to join our team as Assistant Vice President, Credit Risk Associate - Hybrid (Internal Job Title: Credit Officer - C12) based in Taiwan. The Credit Officer 2 is a seasoned professional role. Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge, contributing to the development of new techniques and the improvement of processes and work-flow for the area or function. Integrates subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area. Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the function and overall business. Evaluates moderately complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact, where development of an approach/taking of an action involves weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting situations using multiple sources of information. Requires good analytical skills in order to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required. Regularly assumes informal/formal leadership role within teams. Involved in coaching and training of new recruits. Significant impact in terms of project size, geography, etc. by influencing decisions through advice, counsel and/or facilitating services to others in area of specialization. Work and performance of all teams in the area are directly affected by the performance of the individual.
In this role, you’re expected to:
- Manage the assigned portfolio with timely completion of regular as well as ad-hoc credit reviews. Escalate credit issues to senior analysts and underwriters for further investigation.
- Develop recommendations by analyzing credit and financial performance utilizing statistical scoring, segmentation, and simulation techniques.
- Implement initiatives to ensure consistency and compliance with credit policies as well as projects for local franchise purposes in case of need.
- Perform risk, financial and data analysis including profiling, sampling, reconciliation, and quality testing.
- Prepare risk management presentations for senior management that include analytics on portfolio performance, emerging trends and areas of opportunity
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
As a successful candidate, you’d ideally have the following skills and exposure:
- 5-8 years relevant experience
- Degree in Quantitative Fields such as Economics, Engineering, Operations Research, Business Finance, or Mathematics.
- Previous experience in credit risk management or equivalent training and experience preferably in the financial services industry. Adequate knowledge of banking products, such as derivatives, trade finance, and credit lending.
- Good to have FI analytical background/experience
- Ability to apply credit and risk principles toward business goals.
- Familiarity with Taiwan’s local banking regulation
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize, prioritize and drive results with a high sense of urgency
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment managing multiple projects and possess effective interpersonal, organizational and analytic skills
- Literacy with MS Office software and AI tools required
Education:
- Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience/ Master's Degree
