Within Solaria Labs, the US Retail Markets (USRM) Incubation team creates protected space to explore, test, and de-risk high-potential opportunities for the USRM business. We partner closely with leaders and teams across strategy, technology, product, underwriting, distribution, marketing, experience, analytics, applied science, operations, and strategic partnerships. Our work is always evolving in response to customer needs, market signals, emerging technologies, and USRM priorities, giving team members the opportunity to contribute across a changing portfolio of customer-facing, agent-facing, partner-facing, operational, digital, and AI-enabled initiatives.
We are seeking a talented and motivated individual to join the USRM Incubation team. This role is responsible for leading incubation initiatives from concept through validation, partnering across business and technology teams to test emerging opportunities, de-risk solutions, and scale successful capabilities into USRM.
Example Projects:
Example incubation efforts include applying agentic AI to transform how teams access insights and make decisions, streamlining underwriting workflows through AI-powered solutions, reimagining the Small Commercial initial quoting and classification experience, and exploring how AI can unlock new approaches to Finance and operational workflows. As technologies, market opportunities, and business priorities evolve, so does our portfolio. Team members are expected to thrive in ambiguity, quickly immerse themselves in new domains, and help identify, incubate, de-risk, and scale the next generation of capabilities across Liberty Mutual.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead incubation workstreams from concept through validation and transition of learnings and capabilities to the business.
Partner closely with stakeholders across Solaria’s Product, Product Owner, Technology, Applied Science, Experience Design teams, as well as the business to define strategy, align priorities, and execute initiatives.
Present and communicate progress, insights, and recommendations to leadership and stakeholders.
The actual internal level/grade for this role will depend on the candidate’s overall experience and skill level (16-17)
- Consultant: $ 110,300 - $155,800.
- Assistant Director: $ 125,300 - $176,800.

Qualifications
Consultant: Minimum 4 years relevant work experience, typically 6 years.
Assistant Director: Minimum 6 years relevant work experience, typically 8 years.
Must have strong planning, organizational, analytical, decision making and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Program/Project leadership: Proven track record managing complex, cross-functional initiatives from idea through execution, with strong ability to navigate ambiguity and bring structure to undefined problems.
AI & technology fluency: Curiosity about AI and emerging technologies, with the ability to identify practical applications, evaluate opportunities, and translate ideas into business value.
Business-tech bridge: Skilled at translating complex challenges into actionable solutions while partnering effectively with both technical teams (Product, Technology, Data Science, Analytics, Experience Design) and business stakeholders.
Communication & influence: Exceptional stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, with the ability to build alignment across diverse groups.
Self-starter with growth mindset: Proactive, analytical problem-solver who takes ownership and drives outcomes in fast-paced environments. Excited by the end-to-end ownership, cross-functional exposure, and business domain/AI expertise building opportunities this role offers.
Experience managing projects preferred.
