This role is responsible for the following:
Operate, maintain, manage, improve, and enforce the On-Prem Cloud IaaS services to ensure service and availability. Participate in on-call rotation to provide the L2 support and maintain the high availability of the Cloud Platforms. Review in a daily basis the list of tickets allocated to him/her and ensure they are resolved on time and with the right quality. Also, identify any miss-allocated ticket that is not related to Cloud Platform Operation activities and escalate to leader to ensure they are transferred to the Cloud Service Delivery team as needed. When a ticket is assigned, the Cloud Platform Engineer is responsible for the research, configuration, and follow up until the complete closing of the ticket in the Service Now System. Communicate status of incidents and tickets assigned to him/her. Ensure all information related to any incident or request is well documented in a knowledge shared repository which can be accessed by all e2e Cloud team. Monitor security compliance in accordance with standards, policies, and procedures. Drive technical innovation and efficiency in infrastructure operations via automation. Establishing and maintaining working relationships with Millicom lines of business and other relevant stakeholders. Ensuring the On-Prem Cloud Platform and services adhere with relevant regulatory, corporate and centralized governance, standards, and policies. Collaborate with other Cloud Platform Operations Engineers when needed.
Qualifications
- Strong problem solving and creative thinking skills. Show ability to analyze problems, troubleshoot issues, diagnose problems, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions (temporary/permanent).
- 3+ years of hands-on experience using OpenStack technologies (e.g OpenStack core projects like Nova (Compute), Neutron (Networking), and other services like Glance, Cinder, and Swift is essential. Knowledge and experience on Ceph is a plus.
- Experience with container engines and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
- 4+ years of hands-on experience using Linux including system configurations, diagnostics, and troubleshooting.
- Experience on operate VMware vCloud technologies and their respective components

- VMware vRealize Orchestrator
- VMware vSphere, ESXi
- VMware NSX-T
- VMware vRealize Operations Manager
- VMWare vSAN
- VMWare VCF
- VMWare vSphere vCenter.
- 4+ years of experience designing, implementing, and operating solutions on a variety of IaaS/PaaS offerings, both public and private clouds at a massive scale.
- Experience in blade or rack servers from Dell, SuperMicro or Huawei manufacturers.
- Knowledge of networking principles and applications / technologies (e.g., TCP/UDP protocols, iSCSI, DNS, SSH, SSL, DHCP, web services, virtual networking, and load balancing).
- Knowledge of security principles and applications / technologies (e.g. User access controls, Firewall, security groups, VPN access, among others).
- Good understanding of application monitoring and metrics.
- ITIL framework and processes experience.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Bilingual: fluent in Spanish and English, verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly motivated and self-driven, capable of working with little instruction to resolve demanding tasks, as well as work with internal teams.
- Programming (Python,etc.) and scripting (Bash, PowerShell, API consumption for continuos integration) skills to help automate administrative tasks to improve overall team efficiency.
- Configuration management and versioning using code repositories (e.g. GitHub).
- Experience working in an Infrastructure-as-Code environment using configuration management tools such as Terraform (others like Ansible).
