At Franciscan, our Medical Assistants are critical for supporting a variety of clinical duties for multiple clinics. This role assists providers and staff in coordinating patient care, scheduling appointments, executing physician orders for lab testing, entering information in electronic medical record system, and functions as a liaison between patients, coworkers, and providers.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

• Sign-On Bonus Available (Ask your Talent Acquisition Advisor about eligibility.)
• Clinic hours are Monday through Friday, 7am to 5pm
• Provide direct patient care in a busy outpatient clinic, including patient rooming, obtaining vital signs, documenting medical histories, and supporting efficient patient flow
• Perform clinical duties such as manual blood pressure readings, pulse oximetry, EKG placement, phlebotomy, point-of-care testing, and administering vaccines, injections, and medications as directed
• Support patient care coordination through medication reconciliation, referrals, prior authorizations, prescription refill requests, and other follow-up activities
• Utilize the electronic medical record (EMR) to accurately document patient information and maintain continuity of care
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, providers, and healthcare team members while delivering exceptional customer service
• Demonstrate strong critical thinking, organizational, and multitasking skills in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Medical Assistant experience required; outpatient clinic experience preferred
• Proficiency in manual vital signs, EKG placement, and phlebotomy preferred
• Must maintain a personal stethoscope and a commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care

QUALIFICATIONS

• Required High School Diploma/GED
• Required Program Medical Assisting
• In lieu of program, 5 years of medical assistant experience-Required
• Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association- within 90 days of hire
• For an MA, you must have one of the following certifications within 6 months of hire:  Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) – American Allied Health or  Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or  Medical Assistant (RMA) – American Medical Technologists (AMT) or  Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) – American Registry of Medical Assistants or   Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) – National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) or National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) – National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) – National Healthcareer Association (NHA) or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) - National Performance Specialists (NPS)
