Job Description:

The Assistant Vice President, Event Specialist II, Southeast Asia will be responsible for the strategic planning, management and execution of client-facing, internal and regional events across Southeast Asia, with additional support for broader APAC regional events and team operations as required. The role will partner closely with lines of business, senior stakeholders, and regional event colleagues to deliver high-quality, business-aligned event programs that support client engagement, franchise priorities and internal communications across the region. This builds on the requirement to plan SEA events, support wider regional activity and manage events from concept through reconciliation.

The successful candidate will serve as an event management advisor and subject matter expert, providing guidance on event strategy, program structure, stakeholder engagement, risk mitigation, and best-practice execution. This includes working with business partners to define event objectives, develop program plans, manage budgets, coordinate logistics, oversee vendor delivery, measure event success and ensure all activity is executed within company guidelines, compliance standards and brand expectations.

The ideal candidate is a confident, highly organized, and commercially aware event professional who can balance strategic planning with hands-on execution. They should be comfortable advising senior stakeholders, managing multiple priorities across markets, navigating internal controls, and delivering consistently high-quality event experiences. This individual will be expected to contribute not only to Southeast Asia event delivery, but also to broader APAC team operations, regional collaboration and continuous improvement across the events function.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, management and execution of client-facing, internal and regional events across Southeast Asia, while providing support for broader APAC initiatives and priority regional programs as required.
  • Partner with lines of business, senior stakeholders, and regional colleagues to develop event strategies that support business objectives, client engagement, brand positioning and internal communications, serving as a trusted advisor on event best practices and delivery.
  • Independently manage events from concept through reconciliation, including program development, budget management, venue and vendor sourcing, contract management, approvals, logistics coordination, onsite execution, staffing, senior management engagement, measurement and post-event reporting.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with business partners, senior leaders, external suppliers, and key control functions to ensure events are executed efficiently, consistently and in line with organizational priorities.
  • Oversee all event-related administration and financial management, including budget tracking, invoice processing, reconciliations, reporting, event databases, and management systems, while maintaining accurate records and documentation.
  • Develop and manage key event deliverables including project plans, event briefings, run-of-show documents, attendee communications, presentation materials and post-event evaluations.
  • Measure event effectiveness through established metrics and reporting processes, providing insights and recommendations to enhance future event performance and business impact.
  • Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with company policies, regulatory requirements and brand standards, proactively identifying and mitigating risks through partnership with Compliance, Legal, Risk, Corporate Security, Corporate Communications and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Support regional event operations and team initiatives, including process improvement, reporting, budget planning, internal communications, event technology platforms, inventory management and the development of standard operating procedures that promote operational excellence across the APAC Events team.
  • Contribute to team culture and capability building by sharing best practices, driving operational efficiencies and supporting cross-functional collaboration across markets and event disciplines

Required Skills:

  • Strong experience in corporate event management, ideally within the business events industry, financial institution, professional services firm, or event management agency.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage internal and external client events, conferences, senior stakeholder meetings and premium hospitality programs.
  • Strong understanding of Southeast Asia markets, with the ability and willingness to travel regionally as required.
  • Proven ability to work independently while also contributing as part of a regional team.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to partner with senior leaders, business heads, control partners and demanding event hosts.
  • Strong project management capability, including timeline management, budget oversight, vendor coordination, documentation, and post-event reconciliation.
  • Ability to operate effectively under pressure, manage competing priorities and respond calmly to last-minute changes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence, advise and build credibility across different levels of the organization.
  • Professional demeanor, sound judgement, attention to detail and a strong control mindset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, CoPilot and the ability to quickly learn internal systems, processes and procedures.
