What you’ll do  

Reporting to the SRA Director for Accelerator leading  the Better For You (BFY) SRA team for the Accelerator business—the division supporting KIND, Tru Fru, Nature's Bakery, and the newly acquired Kellanova brands. The SRA Specialist is responsible for a variety of regulatory activities related to recipe, finished products, labelling, claims, and regulatory knowledge management to ensure adherence with applicable laws and regulations in North America (US and Canada). As the Accelerator division continues to evolve, this role will ensure compliance in accordance with regulations, internal processes and policies. The SRA Specialist works cross-functionally with project teams to proactively identify potential regulatory problems, provide guidance and assist in creating a positive compliance environment for our products and business goals.

Job Responsibilities 

  • Assuring ingredients, formulas, labelling, artwork are in full compliance with North American laws and regulations as well as internal standards/policies.

  • Assuring claims are approved, substantiated and in full compliance with laws and regulations as well as internal standards/policies.

  • Determines current regulatory status of ingredients, additives, and claims; assures that SRA databases are up to date and contain the most current information.

  • Responsible for creation and maintenance of legal text for finished products (e.g. ingredient statement, nutrition facts panel, allergen declarations).

  • Reviews and approves artwork for North American compliance.

  • Participates in project teams providing regulatory guidance for brands of responsibility, Including risk assessments and escalations as needed.

  • Assists with the preparation and submission of documentation to regulatory agencies

  • Performs other regulatory related assignments and continuous improvement as needed.

Qualifications 

  • Minimum: A Bachelor’s degree in a technical area, such as food science, biology, chemistry or nutrition is preferred.

  • Minimum: 3+ years of direct experience in CPG regulatory affairs is required. Knowledge of North American regulatory framework including navigation of US code of federal regulations. Experience in raw material compliance, legal text creation and labeling regulations. Preferred: Direct experience with food or food supplements

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is between the range listed below, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position will include variable pay, medical and dental benefits, participation in 401k plan, and paid time off benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an applicant receives an offer of employment.

The pay range shown is applicable to all US locations listed within the job posting:USD 86,720.00 - USD 119,240.00
