McKesson Medical-Surgical is seeking a motivated and relationship-focused Ambulatory Care Account Executive to support healthcare providers throughout our Washington territory. This role offers an exceptional opportunity for an early to mid-career sales professional who is ready to step into a territory with an established customer base, strong existing revenue streams, and significant opportunities for growth.
Preferred candidates will reside in Seattle, Tacoma, or within 25 miles of either city.
You'll be responsible for managing and expanding relationships with physician practices, clinics, and healthcare organizations while identifying new business opportunities across the territory. Success in this role comes from building trusted partnerships, understanding customer challenges, and delivering solutions that help improve clinical and business outcomes. The Ambulatory Care Account Executive serves as a strategic partner to customers while collaborating closely with McKesson specialists across Laboratory, Pharmaceutical, Medical-Surgical, McKesson Brands, Surgery Centers, and Corporate Accounts to deliver comprehensive solutions that drive customer value and territory growth.
This is a highly visible field-based sales role that offers autonomy, development, and uncapped earning potential for individuals who are passionate about relationship selling and business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and grow an established portfolio of healthcare accounts while identifying and winning new business opportunities throughout the territory.
Develop and execute strategic territory and account plans that drive revenue growth, customer retention, and gross profit performance.
Build trusted relationships with physicians, practice administrators, office managers, and key decision-makers within customer organizations.
Identify customer needs and recommend products, services, and technology solutions that improve operational and clinical outcomes.
Collaborate with internal specialists and manufacturer partners to deliver comprehensive solutions and maximize customer value.
Conduct regular customer visits, business reviews, product demonstrations, and sales presentations.
Maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities and effectively manage sales activities through Salesforce or other CRM tools.
Analyze territory performance, sales trends, and customer needs to identify growth opportunities and develop action plans.
Negotiate and close sales opportunities while ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
Consistently achieve or exceed territory sales, gross profit, and business objectives.
Compensation & Benefits
Annual Base Salary: $85,000
Annual Uncapped Sales Incentive Target: $80,000
Auto Program: Monthly Vehicle Allowance of $668, or Company Vehicle with Fuel Card
Comprehensive Benefits Package including Medical, Dental, Vision, Retirement Savings Plans, PTO, and other McKesson benefits
Minimum Requirements
4+ years of relevant experience
Valid driver's license: 7-year motor vehicle record check completed as part of pre-employment
Critical Skills
4+ years of progressive sales, account management, or customer service experience
Demonstrated success building and maintaining long-term customer relationships
Experience prospecting and developing new business opportunities
Strong consultative selling and relationship management skills
Experience working within a collaborative team environment
Proficiency with Salesforce or other CRM platforms
Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word
Ability to travel up to 80% within the assigned territory, mostly day travel
Preferred Qualifications
Experience presenting to executive-level stakeholders
Distribution, healthcare, laboratory, or medical sales experience preferred
Experience selling value-based solutions, services, or technology offerings
Experience managing territory profitability, margins, and gross profit goals
Bachelor's degree in Business or related field, or equivalent experience
Travel
Up to 80% within the territory with occasional overnight travel.
Physical Requirements
Ability to travel daily throughout the assigned territory.
