Position Overview

Reporting to the Paint Manager, the Aircraft Bodyman plays a key role in preparing and restoring aircraft components to ensure they meet the highest standards of quality, appearance, and performance. Working closely with the Paint team, this position is responsible for repairing damaged surfaces, performing bodywork and finishing preparation, and ensuring components are ready for painting in accordance with Alpine Aerotech's quality standards. Through craftsmanship, precision, and attention to detail, the Bodyman helps deliver aircraft components that reflect the exceptional quality our customers expect.

How You'll Make an Impact

Surface Preparation & Body Repair

  • Repair damaged aircraft surfaces by filing, grinding, sanding, and smoothing filled or repaired areas using both hand and power tools.

  • Mix and apply polyester resins, hardeners, fillers, and other approved materials to restore damaged components.

  • Prepare aircraft parts and components to meet paint-ready quality standards while maintaining exceptional workmanship.

  • Perform body repairs with precision and consistency to ensure high-quality finished results.

Quality & Safety

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area that supports productivity and workplace safety.

  • Follow all company procedures, safe work practices, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.

  • Adhere to environmental and regulatory requirements for hazardous materials handling and waste disposal.

  • Inspect completed work to ensure repairs meet Alpine Aerotech's quality standards before progressing to the paint process.

Teamwork & Technical Excellence

  • Work collaboratively with the Paint team to maintain workflow efficiency and achieve production goals.

  • Communicate effectively with teammates and supervisors to coordinate repairs and ensure consistent quality.

  • Demonstrate professionalism, craftsmanship, and attention to detail that reflects Alpine Aerotech's commitment to excellence.

Continuous Improvement

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance quality, efficiency, and operational performance.

  • Continuously develop technical skills and remain committed to producing exceptional workmanship.

What You'll Bring to Our Team

  • Minimum of 5 - 10 years of experience performing bodywork, collision repair, or surface preparation.

  • Red Seal Automotive Collision Repair certification is considered an asset.

  • Experience with sanding, filling, shaping, and finishing composite or metal surfaces.

  • Strong understanding of body repair materials, fillers, resins, and finishing techniques.

  • Commitment to producing high-quality workmanship with exceptional attention to detail.

  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment.

  • Professionalism, accountability, and sound judgment when working safely with tools, equipment, and hazardous materials.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
