Description

Working with the AA | Me mahi tahi tatou ki AA

For over 120 years the AA have been helping Kiwis on their adventures! Today, we're one of New Zealand's most respected and trusted brands. From our humble beginnings as a motoring enthusiast's club, the New Zealand AA (Automobile Association) has grown into a large, dynamic organisation offering many services and products to more than a million Members.

And now, we’re building the organisation of the future – more connected, modern, and purpose-driven. We are a business in transformation, with opportunities to work cross-functionally, grow new skills, and make a meaningful impact. We’re investing in our people, platforms, and ways of working to stay ahead of what our Members and customers need.

What You'll Be Doing | Mō te Tūranga

As an Automotive Technician with the AA, you'll play a key role in delivering trusted vehicle servicing, repairs and inspections that keep our Members and customers safely on the road. Working within a supportive workshop team, you'll use your technical expertise to diagnose and repair a wide range of vehicles while providing clear, professional advice and exceptional customer service.

You'll be responsible for maintaining AA quality and safety standards, building strong customer relationships, and staying up to date with evolving automotive technology and industry best practice. You'll also contribute to the success of the business by identifying customer needs and recommending relevant AA products and services where appropriate.

You will:

  • Deliver vehicle servicing, repairs and inspections to AA quality and safety standards.
  • Diagnose faults and provide accurate verbal and written reports.
  • Keep customers informed about vehicle issues, recommended work and expected timeframes.
  • Provide exceptional customer service in every interaction.
  • Promote relevant AA products and services that support customer needs.
  • Maintain a strong focus on health and safety and workshop best practice.
  • Continue developing your technical expertise through ongoing learning and training

About You | Mōu

You will bring:

  • A Level 4 Automotive Trade Qualification (or equivalent).
  • At least three years' recent experience in the automotive industry.
  • WOF authority preferred; COF-A would be an advantage.
  • A clean Full New Zealand Driver Licence.
  • Proven ability to service, repair and inspect passenger and light commercial vehicles.

You have strong customer service and communication skills, are confident using workshop systems and technology, and take a professional, safety-focused approach with a commitment to quality workmanship.
