SUMMARY
Q2 is seeking a Network Engineer who is able to independently design, implement, and troubleshoot complex network solutions. This role supports enterprise environments and contributes to planning, performance optimization, and secure configuration of systems while mentoring junior team members and contributing to strategic initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Design and implement network solutions within a complex infrastructure
Administer network services and ensure optimal performance
Analyze, debug, and resolve network traffic and connectivity issues
Evaluate and integrate new technologies into the environment
Document technical processes and infrastructure changes
Provide support during network-related incidents and upgrades
Ensure security compliance and maintain documentation standards
Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation
Manages and troubleshoots enterprise wireless/Wi-Fi infrastructure, including access points, controllers, and site-level coverage and performance issues.
Takes ownership of network issues end-to-end — identifies, triages, and escalates appropriately, and drives incidents through to resolution.
Brings decent network troubleshooting ability across routing, switching, and connectivity issues in a live production environment.
Holds a good working knowledge of core networking protocols and fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing and switching basics).
Has hands-on experience primarily in datacenter/on-prem network environments, with at least limited/basic exposure to cloud networking.
Configures and supports RADIUS/ISE-based authentication for wired and wireless network access.
Brings solid, hands-on experience operating and maintaining a corporate network environment.
Hands-on experience using ThousandEyes for network performance monitoring and troubleshooting.
Handles basic-level ISP troubleshooting and vendor coordination for circuit and connectivity issues.
Works with Meraki infrastructure (switches, access points, and/or security appliances) in a production environment.
EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE
• Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field and a minimum of 5 years of related experience; or an advanced degree with 3+ years of experience; or equivalent related work experience
• Advanced knowledge of routing, switching, firewalls, and VPN technologies
• Experience with Cisco Meraki Firewalls, load balancers and cloud networks
• Expert understanding of core networking technologies including: BGP, EIGRP, Cisco routing and switching infrastructure (IOS/ IOSXE / NXOS / ACI)
• Strong diagnostic and log analysis skills
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-pressure environment
• Effective communicator with cross-functional teams
• Documentation and procedural development experience
• Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent highly preferred
