About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental, Shenzhen within the Food & Beverage Division in Shenzhen, Helper 2 is responsible for all aspects of the assigned kitchen section and to be proactive, creative and results driven. The Helper 2 reports to the Head Helper.

As Helper 2, you will be responsible for the following duties:

• Report all challenges and failures of machinery, tools or equipment and follow up.
• Assist the Chef De Partie with the production and quality control of all foods prepared in his/her respective area section
• Minimize wastage and spoilage by monitoring business forecasts and work practices
• Inspect all refrigerated and non-refrigerated food storage areas to ensure appropriate stock rotation. Ensure any out-of-stock items are being immediately reported

As Helper 2, we expect from you: 

• Minimum 1 year’s relevant working experience in similar capacity
• Good knowledge of hygiene, preparation techniques and cooking procedure
• A great team player with good communication skills
