Description
Join our Chemical Management team at a leading automotive assembly plant and play a vital role in supporting critical manufacturing operations.
As a Chemical Management Specialist, you will be responsible for managing chemical inventories, coordinating procurement activities, overseeing hazardous materials, and delivering exceptional customer support to ensure uninterrupted production and regulatory compliance. In this role, you will partner closely with plant personnel while reporting directly to the Program Manager, Optima Solutions Chemical Management.

Key Responsibilities
Manage daily, weekly, and monthly inventory activities, including forecasting, ordering, receiving, and distributing materials required for production operations.
Monitor inventory levels to ensure material availability while minimizing excess inventory and waste.
Conduct inventory audits with customers and suppliers to verify inventory accuracy and support replenishment processes.
Identify and communicate potential material shortages, excess inventory, and expiring products.
Participate in Safety Observation Tours (SOTs) and complete all required daily, weekly, and monthly safety-related activities.
Participate in customer audits, chemical review meetings, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Perform bacteria testing and work closely with onsite Annex P contractors to ensure system treatment processes are properly maintained and operating effectively.
Support compliance with environmental, health, safety, and chemical management requirements.
Analyze inventory and usage trends to improve forecasting accuracy and support production planning.
Assist the Site Contract Manager and other team members with special projects, process improvements, and additional responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications
Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2 or more years of experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Experience with paint systems, chemical management, hazardous materials, or related industrial processes would be advantageous.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, with the ability to create, maintain, and analyze complex spreadsheets in Excel.
Works well independently and as part of a collaborative team to identify solutions and overcome challenges.
Strong communication and collaboration skills with personnel at all levels and varying technical backgrounds.
Capable of safely operating a golf cart and handling materials up to 50 pounds.
This position requires some schedule flexibility to support first-shift operations Monday through Friday. Occasional overtime may be required to support customer needs and plant operations.
