Schedule: Variable. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on performance and event needs. Hours are reflective of the dynamic schedule of the theater. 

Position Summary

The Concessions Floor Lead is a working leadership position responsible for providing exceptional bartending service while supporting the Concessions Coordinator with the day-to-day operation of assigned concession locations during performances, special events, and rentals. In addition to bartending responsibilities, the Concessions Floor Lead provides frontline leadership by supporting staff, monitoring service standards, assisting with inventory management, resolving operational issues, and ensuring compliance with food safety and responsible alcohol service requirements. The Floor Lead leads by example while helping create a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment for guests and team members.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

1. Staff Leadership 

• Serve as a working leader while maintaining an assigned bartending station. 
• Support the Concessions Coordinator in the execution of daily concession operations. 
• Assist with opening and closing concession locations. 
• Provide guidance, coaching, and support to bartenders and concession attendants during service. 
• Help ensure all concession locations maintain service, cleanliness, and presentation standards. 
• Monitor guest traffic and communication staffing or operational needs to the Concessions Coordinator. 
• Assist with resolving guest concerns and operational issues in a professional manner. 
• Assist with training and mentoring new team members. 
• Reinforce compliance with departmental policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and safety standards. 
• Complete assigned operational checklists and documentation. 
• Perform other duties as assigned. 

2. Bartending

• Perform all duties of a Bartender, including preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with standardized recipes and presentation standards and ensuring responsible alcohol service practices.
• Deliver exceptional guest service while maintaining speed, accuracy, and professionalism.
• Assist guests with beverage selections and answer questions regarding menu offerings.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and presentation of the assigned bar throughout service.
• Restock beverages, garnishes, glassware, paper goods, and supplies as needed.
• Accurately operate the point-of-sale (POS) system.

3. Operations and Inventory 

• Monitor inventory levels within assigned concession locations. 
• Restock products throughout service to maintain established par levels. 
• Assist with transferring products between concession locations as operational needs require. 
• Report inventory shortages, damaged products, equipment issues, and maintenance concerns to the Concessions Coordinator. 
• Assist with receiving deliveries and organizing storage areas. 
• Rotate inventory using First In, First Out (FIFO) procedures. 
• Assist with scheduled inventory counts. 

4. Guest Service 

• Create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all guests. 
• Respond promptly and professionally to guest questions and concerns. 
• Assist team members during high-volume periods to maintain efficient service. 
• Promote exceptional hospitality and represent the organization in a professional manner. 

5. Food Safety and Alcohol Service Compliance

• Maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal food safety regulations. 
• Ensure assigned concession areas remain clean, organized, and sanitary throughout each shift. 
• Monitor refrigeration, food storage, and product labeling to ensure compliance with food safety standards. 
• Follow and reinforce responsible alcohol service practices. 
• Verify guest identification when required and refuse alcohol service when appropriate in accordance with applicable laws and organizational policies. 
• Immediately report alcohol-related incidents, safety concerns, or injuries to the Concessions Coordinator. 
• Maintain all required certification related to alcohol service and food safety.  

6. Teamwork 

• Work collaboratively with bartenders, concession attendants, and Concession Coordinators to ensure efficient operations. 
• Assist coworkers during high-volume service periods. 
• Participate in training and departmental meetings as assigned.

Requirements

Essential Knowledge and Qualifications 

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred. 
• Minimum one (1) year of bartending experience required. 
• Previous experience in concessions, hospitality, food service, or a performing arts venue preferred. 
• Previous leadership, shift lead, or supervisory experience preferred. 
• Strong leadership/customer/guest service skills. Can present a polite and professional demeanor when interacting with guests and colleagues at all times. 
• Can lead by example while maintaining an assigned bartending station. 
• Can communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. 
• Experience operating a point-of-sale (POS) system preferred.
• Can concentrate and work effectively in a busy and noisy environment.
• Maintains compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations at all times. 
• Has active Minnesota Food Protection Manager Certification (or ability to obtain). 
• Has active Minnesota Approved Alcohol Server Training Certification (or can obtain this before the start of employment).
• Can stand and walk for extended periods.
• Can frequently lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
• Can bend, stoop, reach, push and pull throughout the workday.
• Can work evenings, weekends, holidays, and flexible schedules based on performance and event needs.
